Spark by Hilton disappointing.
Pros:

The wall mounted coat hooks were a nice addition.

Cons:

At check in, i was told that the credit card i used to book the room was declined, and i had to l pay at the desk. Strange. Sapphire Reserve card and they said it was declined. They swipped the same card at the desk and it went through. When we got to our room, i checked my credit card online, and the original charge (when i first booked the room) had in fact been charged to my card. So, now i double paid for the room. It took 3 different conversions with the front desk to insure i would be creditted for 1 of the charges. ( I did get the credit.) Room had a chemical smell (not like bleach or cleaning smell). That smell lingered in our clothes and my CPAP machine. Maybe it was just our room. I don't know. The room looked a little beat up (paint chipped in places, wall scrapes - normal wear and tear, i guess), and there was a (not small) water/corrosion stain in the bathtub/shower. Their breakfast has changed, they no longer serve 'hot' food (eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles). Coffee is now in the reception area (not in the breakfast area). Just mini muffins, bagel, toast (with only one, 4 slice toaster - you can imagine the line for the toaster), cereal, fruit (i didn't see any bananas), yogurt, juice (from concentrate, mixed with chlorinated water). It's changed, for the worst, since being taken over as Spark by Hilton. I go to lake george 3 times a year. Always stayed here. This is my first visit since it became Spark by Hilton. I won't go back there.

about what i expected all around.
Pros:

breakfast was below average, though coffee was good. if you are a shopper, location is excellent amid the outlet stores, otherwise proximity to Lake George is only benefit.

actual cobwebs on some hallway light fixtures.....

staff was very polite and helpful. price was within reach.

bed was comfortable. TV volume had to be turned on by staff every time it was used (!?!)

pool area was dimly lit, but pool and whirlpool were operable and warm.

I liked the location and everything was nearby. Lake George was only like a ten minute drive and we were near the mall so we were able to buy souvenirs.

Cons:

I did not like when I turned on the shower and disgusting brown water stared coming out. When I called the front desk the sweet gentleman apologized and said to let it run and call back again if it’s still brown. unfortunately they were sold out. as someone who used to work at a hotel as front desk, I knew they couldn’t do much but we couldnt shower.

I got a lovely upgrade for which I was very thankful.
Pros:

I had an unfortunate incident with the breakfast. Someone came into the breakfast room with a dog. I’m not usually allergic, but I started coughing. By the time I got back to my room, I was having a serious allergy attack and used every medicine I had with me. I still had runny eyes and runny nose for about an hour.

Cons:

The coffee could have been in the breakfast room.

Has potential, wish I knew it was under construction.
Pros:

Location was perfect. Brand new rooms, that was lovely. Quiet location.

Cons:

The hotel is under construction and we were not made aware of this at all as we were booking. Rooms were being actively put together (under full construction/cement floors/ect.). We were told there was a pool and gym, one of the main reasons we booked there. Nope- both were still under construction.

Not cleaned and ready for guests.
Pros:

This hotel was most certainly not ready for stays after the recent Spark by Hilton rebranding! I checked in and immediately left, as it was a MESS. Construction dust and debris all over the place. Carpets stained with dust, dusty handprints all over the walls, doors, and the corner of the bathroom in the room had a pile of construction debris swept behind it. Also, of note, the tubs and toilet were the old originals, and were stained and dated.

Won't come back.
Pros:

it was strange and not healthy.

Cons:

The Smoke Alarm went off in my room around 3;30 am -- couldn't get it off -- called down and a gentleman came up and eventually it went off. I told the manager the next morning and they said if I wrote to you The Booking Company, that you would need to give me a discount. That they would okay a 10% discount. I hope I hear from somebody. My phone is (845) 656-9330 and you obviously have my email and my credit card. Thank you.

I would tell other people to come and stay there.
Pros:

Staff was very nice. The room was not what I expected, it was actually nice. The only problem was I asked to be on the main floor which I was but no one stated that there were stairs to get into every door, and i traveled with my individual who is in a wheelchai, but we made it work.
