Poor and not up to expected standard for price
Pros:

Proximity to Villa Park, friendly manager, very crisp bedding

Cons:

OUTSIDE The unkempt and dirty courtyard, had water feature with stagnant/pink water and many old cigarette ends on floor, tables and chairs were too dirty to sit at INSIDE the bar with tables stacked up, some surfaces ringmarked with drink spills and the whole place had piles of supplies piled up like not really in use often, old fashioned key for bedroom hard to use, very loose tap to wash basin

Would stay again, great atmosphere. Michelle was fab!
Pros:

Friendly staff, great location, classy room

Cons:

Breakfast was a good but had to ask for things and no butter for toast or brown bread. Bit noisy from work place over the road, but we did stay on a working day

Nice Character. Good location for Villa Park.
Pros:

Room was nicely presented with boutique style character. Nice guest amenities.

Cons:

Never got one of the family rooms with two single beds that we booked. When i went to enquire, they said it was the same price. no apology and no change of room could be made.
There is a lot of road noise when staying in the front rooms. Didn't find the bed comfortable.
No breakfast options prior to 7am.

Would definitely stay again.
Pros:

Choose this place over Premier Inn
Pros:

This place has free and secure parking, a characterful property and stylish, quirky room. Comfortable bed and thick duvet. Breakfast is excellent and very close to supermarket/ restaurants, city centre etc. a million times better than Premier Inn or Travelodge. Helpful staff.

Cons:

It is not in a lovely area (Birmingham industrial area) but we knew that. Was expensive but sadly not for the area…Travelodge was more. The room was small.

Hotel full of charm and character, situated in the shadow of a premier league stadium!
Pros:

Hotel packs a hell of a lot of character and charm. The bits and bobs dotted around mixed with the refreshingly modern bathroom were a lovely balance. Breakfast was tasty, fresh and hot. Staff were all lovely and accommodating. Very well situated for Villa Park, easy 40 minute walk to a decent retail park and some nice architecture along the route.

Cons:

The absolute tiniest of things to mention, but the front door is key locked so you couldn’t easy order a late night snack 😂 - however I didn’t ask the staff who I’m sure would accommodate it as to not bother them around midnight. Good for the waistline at least!

Disappointing experience for such a high price
Pros:

Clean and well appointed bathroom. Secure car parking

Cons:

Bed too small. Bedroom curtain falling off rail. A winter duvet on 2nd May.
We were only given instant coffee at breakfast.

Good hotel near Aston Villa stadium.
Pros:

Nice clean pub/ hotel. Bedroom was really nice.
Bathroom facilities were good.
Comfortable bed
The staff were helpful, polite and acted professionally.

Cons:

Breakfast need to be improved.The breakfast was disappointing.
Coffee and tea was Luke warm.
The cooked breakfast was warm.
We paid £200+ for one night whilst friends paid£179 as they booked slightly earlier.

Amazing time at The Aston Tavern
Pros:

The room was beautiful, the staff were so lovely and hardworking. We were only booked to stay 1 night but ended up staying 2 we loved it so much. The breakfast was huge and everything was cooked so well.
