Very old rooms in need renovation
Pros:

The location is good. Very close to Union Square. But a bit scary at night outside with lots of homeless people on one side.
The room is very old and in need some renovation. We had to change room in the middle of night after check in as the first one the shower head didn't work at all. The photos look much better than the room in reality.
However, the hotel lobby and the "library' area are very nice. You can bring your own meal to eat there and has a very cosy feel.

Great location
Pros:

Great location. The street and area felt quite safe. Free coffee and tea in the morning was a nice touch. Beautiful hotel.

Nice stay but issue with credit card deposit
Pros:

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. Staff were generally friendly, hotel was comfortable and the facilities were good. Location is great, very close to Union Square.

Hotel is a little tired/ dated in places (broken ice machine for example) but generally nice and for the price we paid was an excellent choice for our family holiday. The water bottles and welcome drinks were a nice touch and the gym facilities were very good.

However, the reason for the low score is the amount still held on my credit card 17 days after we checked out. I appreciate it’s standard to take a deposit but this still hasn’t been released and is showing as pending on my credit card almost 3 weeks later. I’ve never had this experience before and contacting the hotel from the UK is difficult as they don’t have an email on their website. I’ve managed to contact a helpful member of staff in the reservation dept who in turn is speaking to accounts but at the time of writing this still hasn’t not been resolved and is not something I should have to follow up. A disappointing end to an otherwise nice stay.

Pros:

Beautiful old building, super helpful staff.

Cons:

There were demonstrators outside and the soundproofing of the rooms wasn’t as good as it could have been. We were moved to a quieter room.

Bar closed at 9 quite early
Some of rooms a bit tired - enamel on bath wearing out
Bath shower combo with step down pretty dangerous !

Good stay in San Francisco!
Pros:

Great location, easy access to the port, chinatown, and nice neighborhoods.
Staff was super welcoming and nice, gifted us free breakfast and a drink 😊 Thank you!

Cons:

Bathroom and room could be a bit more modern, but comfortable bed!!

The rooms are pretty good and clean. The lobby pretty impresive and the staff at the lobby very good.

Cons:

I miss hand soap in the bathroom and although the room was really clean, they forgot to replace the used glasses.
