Nice location, we had a bayside view, the room was a very nice size(bigger than we expected) they had a nice little breakfast buffet and the staff were very friendly! We will stay there again!

The breakfast was not great but it was the same low quality free breakfast you get at most hotels these days. The breakfast attendant was very nice and attentive though. The hotel age could be seen through a few coats of paint.
Nice location specially by the beach
The pool lining was rough really needs repair seems like the resort needs some more up keep like the walk ways were peeling from paint furniture really scratched the walla in the room and well the phone didnt work and the ironing board fell apart mold under the frig was horrible so house keeping needs to improve in the cleaning and also there was hair in the towels. Also the website states a tiki bar and there wasn’t one SOOO your website needs updated!!
When my sister and I arrived to check-in, it went well. For an older hotel, it is a clean room. The price was fair for 3 nights in September. A hot breakfast is included, which we appreciated. The refrigerator is a medium size (larger than most) no freezer, but was very cold. In fact, items were icing up. It worked good. There is ample room for leftovers. There's ample space in the bedroom/desk/closet room by the beds, and tv. A lamp on a 1 drawer stand is in between the 2 queen beds. The hotel location is prime because it is directly across the street from Pensacola Beach, boardwalk, shops, stores, & restaurants. All was in walking distance of the hotel. We walked to the souvenir shops where Quietwater Beach & long dock is also. The hotel provides beach/pool towels. Ask for them at the front desk. The hotel pool (3.5'-6') is nice with a fenced-in area for the kiddos. There are plenty of lounge chairs, tables, floats, a canopy tiki bar / seating area also, and music via speakers. There is a separate area w/sand for play / cornhole, etc.. Also, there's a private beach area behind the pool w/a nice view of the bay, and a Marina next door to hang out, use kayaks, & surf boards provided by the hotel. They have bicycles, also. You just sign a waiver.
Someone was changing rooms, don't know why, but wondered if we got their room because it had a very strong musky smell. The AC was set to 61and it was freezing. Once we turned it up, the next day the smell wasn't as evident, or we just got accustomed to it, not sure which. We tried the bicycles, but they're really in need of maintenance. I tried one without handgrips, and a broken pedal. One had a broken seat. Another had a broken kickstand. They didn't fit us right regarding heighth. It is nice to have them for guests, however, they require attention or perhaps, replacement. The bathroom door barely skims by the toilet seat upon opening and closing it. It's not much room in the bathroom. My queen bed made noises, but was okay to sleep on. We were there Monday to Wednesday nights and each night, there was music playing at a nearby club or beach where we could hear it in the room. So, earplugs might help if it bothers you. The pool needs some attention, though. It needs to be cleaned much more. There's a lot of black in the concrete in some areas. The pavers could use cleaning, as well. The frig /microwave stand is in a corner with a lg. counter, sink, & mirror outside of the bathroom door. We didn't like that people were smoking in rooms on their balconies next to hours or at the pool. I thought that it was supposed to be a smoke-free hotel and that there would be designated smoking sections. Also the smaller elevator was very rickety and wooden open and close or even move on the last day so we reported it before we left. The bigger one where you can take your luggage on a cart works better. We walked on the stairs to the 3ird floor (Rm 307) to go to and fro due to the elevator issues. There are 4 floors.
We hadwonderful stay at Surf & Sand Hotel! The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable.
The rooms were clean and well kept, and one of my favorite things about this hotel is the private beach area located behind the building on the bay side. It’s such a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the water. They also have kayaks and bicycles available for guests to use, which is a great added bonus!
The location is another huge plus. It’s within walking distance of the boardwalk, Pensacola Beach, restaurants, and plenty of other things to enjoy. We only live about three hours away, but Pensacola has quickly become one of our favorite weekend getaways and Surf & Sand has become our go-to place to stay.
We will definitely be checking in again soon! Thank you, Surf & Sand, for another great stay. We look forward to coming back! 🌊☀️❤️
