overall it was nice, and it was the hotel staff, at every level, every division, that made it nice.
Pros:

Hotel interior is dated, to an extent it felt not clean. 200/100 points go to all the staff - polite and courteous at its best! The GM made effort to greet all Guests at breakfast, which was a nice and rare gesture in most high end hotels these days...

Cons:

the hotel interior - i think it needs some upgrading and refresher.

Cependant, il y a les prises américaines dans les chambres pour garder le style ancien, mais avec l'adaptateur ca n'a pas très bien fonctionné pour charger mon telephone.

Comfortable stay. Extended our stay.
Pros:

Old colonial style that was beautifully preserved. Staff were exceptional and happy. Shout out to Yoga, Anna, Jelsi and Harold?
Great food and buffet was kept hot and filled. Great water pressure and hot. Bed was very comfortable as were the linens.
Good walkable location.

Cons:

Lamp switches were difficult to turn on and off

Pros:

Hotel Majapahit is truly a hotel with history. We were hesitant at first, but a good friend convinced us: ‘Surabaya has many nice hotels, but Majapahit has a unique atmosphere. It’s my second home.’ She was right. The moment you enter, you feel transported back in time. The building, the gardens, the traditional food, the staff — everything impressed us. Pak Kahar greets guests every morning with friendly conversations, and every employee, from the doormen to the technicians, is polite and helpful. When we return to Surabaya, we will definitely stay at Hotel Majapahit again

Stunning colonial building reflecting past eras.
Pros:

This timeless hotel reflects the times of colonial occupancy the beautiful gardens and spacious rooms are the strength decor is detailed to meet the era.

Cons:

On two of the evenings we stayed there were outside events in the garden the first one on Saturday night was a wedding that went until 9:15 cresting some noise.

Glorious heritage hotel
Pros:

We loved everything about Hotel Majapahit. Staff were so lovely and attentive. We had a very comfortable room, and appreciated walking through the beautiful grounds and heritage hotel filled with photos of the hotel’s history. Loved the located right on Jalan Tunjungan and minutes walk from the mall which had both XXI cinema and IMAX and incredible shopping and eateries. The hotel offered fantastic breakfast quality and variety. We also spent lots of time by the large pool which was shady and quiet. Gym and spa were both great. Our stay was wonderful and we would love to return.

Cons:

Not a negative, but note the electrical plugs in the room are not Indonesian standard plugs but Type G (UK/ Singapore/ Malaysian) plugs. A power board was included in the room and functioned perfectly.

Overrated for the service offered. An average hotel in a beautiful establishment

Big pool, good breakfast and spa services

Cons:

Room wasn’t ready at check-in (start at 2pm and we arrived at 3pm); we had to wait 15 minutes to have it prepared.
All the afternoon, till 10pm, there was a marriage in the courtyard below our room with high volume music (window were sometimes trembling). Impossible to relax.
For breakfast we arrived when the restaurant was half empty but staff were extremely slow in cleaning the tables. The offered another restaurant but food proposal was reduced; we had to wait again 15 minutes to have the breakfast in the main restaurant (was good).

A must place to stay
Pros:

Amazing in every way. It was the highlight of my stay in Surabaya. The history tour was so interesting and relevant. Anna on reception was also amazing👍😍🤩 and very helpful.

Super leuk verblijf!
Pros:

Prachtige locatie en dito onderhouden hotel. Een absolute aanrader om te ervaren hoe het 90 jaar geleden was om in Surabaya te overnachten. Gelegen aan een drukke weg met hoge gebouwen waar je binnen het hotel niets van merkt. Vanuit hotel kun je gemakkelijk verplaatsen naar de oude stad of het nieuwe gedeelte waar je luxe winkels aantreft.
