The only positive thing about this hotel is that there is a bed and a shower.
This is a halal hotel (which they don't advertise here either) and if you are not a Muslim, they do not cater to your needs at all. Do not book here if you are not a Muslim. During my entire stay my room was not even cleaned a single time, my complimentary items were never restocked. If I called reception they would just say they are coming or sending someone only for nobody to show up. I called the restaurant one night and was told they are too busy for room service, I was downstairs 5 minutes before that and there were about 3 tables in the restaurant. They took almost 2 hours to bring me my food. They quite clearly just ignored me unless I physically went to reception to complain. It almost seemed like they were purposely trying to make my stay as unpleasant as possible so that I would never return. AVOID THIS PLACE!
Staff was nice. Food was also quite fine.
Facilities are rundown. Cupboards doors in the rooms are completely gone and cannot close. Toilets need urgent renewal. Taps are coming out when you open them. Snacks are on display in the rooms but no-one tells you or nowhere is written that are for a cost. Some followed us to the car before we were leaving and after checked out claiming we have to pay for the groundnuts we eat. We asked for wine at the supper time but they told us that the property is a muslim hotel and alcohol is not permitted. They should state that before you do the booking so you may decide knowingly. Photos in the WEB have nothing to do with the actual facilities that are in urgent need of renovation as stated before. All in all we were disappointed.
Good location. Nice reception area. Nice sized rooms and the veranda is a plus.
The carpets in the rooms look quite worn. I would have liked a microwave. The on suite bathroom was archaic and looked like it came from Noah's Ark.
We enjoyed seeing that this property has been preserved. The room was quite large, the bed was very comfortable and the a/c worked very well! Our only complaint/suggestion would be that the bathroom is next to the main hallway and the upper windows are open for a good airflow but you feel like there’s no privacy at all. If there’s someone in the hallway it’s as if they are in the bathroom with you!
Large room, new furniture. Bathroom fully functional, but outdated. Balcony with view over lush garden and pool. Historic building.
Nice and helpful staff.
Excellent dinner, Indian, but also steak and other standards at highish prices.
Large choice of breakfast options, but nothing special here.
Nice bakery in the house.
Will come again.
I liked the old structure with its connection to the past. Fairly well maintained/restored. Historical pictures with descriptions.
I thought they could do a better job of upgrading some things, particularly in the bathroom. Also carpet.
