Pitfalls only apparent once checked in
Pros:

Close to the city however must access via very steep staircases cutting across a park which is dangerous and dark to walk at night and impossible with luggage.

Cons:

I am not a person to ordinarily complain - you get what you pay for & hospitality is a hard industry.

However I was struck by the young women on reception during the weekend who ignored us when we spoke to them and were too busy pretending to spray eachother with water. They consistently left it for us to offer solutions to problems and the young woman on at 5pm on Sunday was strikingly rude and dismissive. We reported a non-working air conditioning issue online at 2am after being unable to sleep in a hot room. We did not hear anything overnight (no criticism, reception closes at 10pm) and we reported in person to reception at 9am the following morning when leaving for the day and was assured it would be sorted by the time we returned. At 5pm we returned and nothing had been done. We were told because it was a weekend there was nothing to be done, no maintenance were available and they had forgotten to tell us this end result during the day. They had no spare rooms and there was no available alternative accommodation nearby given the hour and we were asked to 'just sleep with the door open'. We had to propose solutions and eventually a room move was offered, despite being told earlier of there being a full hotel. We had to leave for an event that evening and upon returning at 9pm we got the air conditioning working ourselves. We were then woken at 7am the following day by staff knocking and then returning again at 9am to ask why we hadn't moved rooms. There is a clear lack of professionalism & communication between staff members.

When we asked for extra pillows staff provided uncovered & stained pillows. We asked for covers & were told that the uncovered pillow was standard and the stain 'just water'. We also asked for assistance to work Chromecast on the TV which was inoperable but this was never addressed beyond staff saying she "didn't know" how to fix it and she did not try.

Pros:

Great location. Room was neat and tidy. Bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Bathroom was small and shower was a bit too small for the size of the shower head, so it was very difficult to move around in the shower without getting my hair wet.
