We had a double harbour view room with kitchenette. The room was very comfortable, the view amazing, and location superb, surrounded by hotels costing substantially more. The hotel warned that there was ferry building construction across from the hotel, and offered to move us to a room on the opposite side of building that was quieter. We decided to stick with the harbour view room. While the room was noisy, it wasn't the construction, it was the people at the restaurant terrace below (we were on 4th floor, and we could hear entire conversations from the first floor bar terrace). But this did not bother us at all....in fact,. it was nice hearing people be so happy and enjoying themselves. The harbour view as totally worth it! We felt this was a great value,. and would definitely return.
We loved our stay, but would have liked a firmer bed. One bed was tyoo soft; the other was beyond soft and saggy.
We chose it for a two night stay for its location on the harbour front and within walking distance of places we were interested in. Easy to find, easy check-in/out, no noise issues with the work going on in the harbour they had told us about and fan provided in the room as they told us they don't have air conditioning. Lots of harbour activity, a great stay .
Location
Elevator not working
The hotel is centrally located right on the harbour and very close to the Legislature Building and many other walkable city features. Staff were helpful and pleasant and they did their best to make our stay comfortable. The beds were comfy and the room was clean.
The parking lot area is cramped, but included. The building is older; the walls are pretty thin and the doors are not fitted into frames to deter hall noise. Earplugs might be a necessity for some. The building is also not particularly secure. Anyone from the street or the lively bar in the front area can access the stairs or the elevator to the rooms. For this reason it might not be the best spot for the solo female traveller.
Great location. Walking distance to ferry, harbour, hop on hop off bus and shopping. We had harbour view room which was quite nice. Some work going on at harbour but didn't bother us. No noise at night.
Free wifi, clean and comfortable room. Good thing the hotel provides coffee because the restaurant isn't open for early travellers!
A loud free-standing fan instead of a/c, very tiny bathroom with a bathtub that was stained. There was no accessibility room - could barely get in through the small door and up off the toilet - definitely would have gone somewhere else if I'd known. Elevator is very small (not wheelchair accessible). Main lobby accessible bathroom was big enough for a wheelchair but no grab bars and you had to fight the doors because of it's placement. It's not the worst hotel. I spoke with the front desk and they explained it's because the building is so old and they can't change the structure. You may not be able to fix it all, but you need to do better or at least be upfront that it's not accessible. Food at the restaurant was only OK and overpriced for the quality/quantity.
Excellent location, great restaurant, had breakfast and dinner, both were very good, very welcoming staff
We specifically asked for a ground floor room, it was quite small, so was the bathroom. Maybe the rooms are bigger, we haven’t changed
Very nice staff/ pet friendly- great location
