Mercure hotel in Salzburg.
Pros:

The Mercure was very conveniently located, about 15 minutes walk from the old town. The rooms had every thing that one needs. Breakfast was expensive and only a buffet was available. There was no a la carter menu so you coulden't havf say, just a poached egg on toast r

Comfortable and clean rooms

Cons:

We were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. However, our room was not ready at the scheduled 15:00 check-in time, and the staff could not give us a definite timeframe for when it would be. Because of this uncertainty, we lost a lot of time and were highly inconvenienced; my wife literally had to iron her clothes and get ready in the public restroom so we wouldn't miss our evening plans. While the housekeeping was top-notch, the reception management and guest coordination were surprisingly weak.

100% satisfied.
Pros:

Absolutely 100%satisfied with this hotel. It is just round the corner from the number 2 bus stop which takes you to the train station and the airport. It is clean and friendly. The lobby has snacks and the restaurant has lovely, reasonable priced food. The reception staff are helpful, particularly Stefan. Would definitely stay there again.
