Some strengths and some weaknesses
Pros:

The Good:
-Reesee was excellent: very helpful moving our rooms when we realized one of our rooms wouldn’t work for our party. Great attitude and offered helpful tips (including which smoothies at nearby Erewhon are the tastiest!)

-The restaurant was excellent for breakfast, room service, and pool-side food. Good and fast. Helpful wait staff.

-The pool is great: cute bar and wonderful roof top view. Our 10 year old kiddo especially liked the pool.

-Beds are comfy: mattress is not too hard/not too soft and pillows aren’t too puffy/too flat

-Location is great for being in walking distance of downtown Silver Lake (many coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and a few boutiques/shops), plus it’s next door to Erewhon which (albeit pricey) is convenient for food and snacks (and the aforementioned smoothie). Location is also a 20 min drive from studio tours and other LA/Hollywood attractions

-Valet services are super quick and friendly

-Rooms are spacious.

Could Be Improved:
-One of our original rooms (prior to moving) was on the first floor and it was bleak: dark and mildew-y smelling. Was basically below street level.

-The rooms need more tables: as other reviews mention, the design goal seems to be CA-minimalist-chic but that seems to translate to a lack of luggage racks or tables.

-There is very little seating in the room and the seats that exist are uncomfortable and weirdly deep.

-Aspects of the room seem dated or simply not kept up: the floors were stained and old and the bathroom wall in our room had noticeable peeling paint and water damage near the shower.

-One of our rooms was super loud: next to a machine room. Thin walls and lots of street noise. Required ear buds with white noise to sleep, even on the 3rd floor . Should be noted that our other room was very quiet (it was in the back of the hotel, also on the 3rd floor).

-They keep the hallways super air conditioned which normally wouldn’t mention but it was uncomfortably cold.

-AC in the room gives off a mildew smell when in use and can be loud when sleeping (but is effective at cooling down the room)

Overall the staff, restaurant, and pool are memorable but there are basic elements to the rooms that need improvement. I would recommend it to travelers who go in understanding this isn’t a luxury hotel but is a good choice if you’re looking for a boutique stay in Silver Lake.

Cool Pool / Crappy Parking & Fees
Pros:

Great experience, food is great, room is great, pool is cute.

One thing that is a huge bummer I that they do not provide any parking and its $35 plus an additional $30 for a resort fee + tax so just include an additional $100 + when you have this place in mind.

Not My Best Hotel Stay
Pros:

The hotel staff has always been very nice and the restaurant is excellent. On the other hand, comfortable seating doesn't exist in the rooms and the lighting is inadequate.

Lovely staycation
Pros:

The hotel is so cute and design is modern desert chic; very much like the Ace properties. The staff was very accommodating with our late checkout when we had to change rooms and housekeeping was polite and patient with us. Marie at the restaurant was amazing. We also really enjoyed Alistair and Cecily; consistently great vibes from all of the staff at Marco Polo and we were happy to see them each day. Marie went out of her way to help us multiple days in a row and I hope there is someone like her at every restaurant i go to in the future. Perfect customer service each time we interacted with her. She even helped us extend our room when the hotel was sold out! Bravo Marie and all the staff at Marco Polo

Don't stay here
Cons:

Really terrible experience. They overcharged us by $500 - we essentially paid for 3 nights instead of 2. They don't tell you but they open the pool to the public for a party on Sundays. The music was so loud, the tiny pool was crowded with people drinking and being loud. It was the least relaxing hotel experience I've ever had, and I paid more for it than advertised. They didn't even offer to refund me for the money they charged me incorrectly. Avoid booking this place at all costs.

For the price, I think more amenities are warranted; however, the location is excellent.
Pros:

The location was great - right next to Erewhon and several coffee shops and restaurants. Appreciate that the pool opened at 7 a.m.

Cons:

There is a lack of places to hang things in the room - really need more hooks or bars to hang towels, for instance. Also a desk would be nice as would complementary coffee and/or happy hour given the price. A fitness room would also be a welcome addition. Also we were told that since we were only there for two days, there would not be housekeeping unless requested. We didn't request and yet housekeeping did come in and made our bed and replaced towels. Not complaining about a clean room but we would have left valuables in the safe if we knew that was the case.

hipster appeal and plenty of style but some missing functionality
Pros:

Very trendy boutique hotel with many nice touches, its pool area though often overcrowded is its main attraction, no one can deny that whoever designed this place had good taste and put some thought into it however there is clearly more emphasis on form than function. Despite plenty of floor space there are no luggage racks in the rooms, the leather chairs look very cool but sitting in them isn't wasn't a highlight of my day. At this price point I should be able to open the window more than 3" however the location is a bit noisy so perhaps opening a bit more would not be highly advantageous. The shower was awesome however, for me it was the best part of the room. The room had a working coffee maker but there was no creamer provided, I guess it isn't fashionable to use cream with your coffee. At checkout I was promised an invoice by email which never arrived even despite my later phone call asking for one, a real oddity, in my 30 years of travels it never happened before. The hotel staff was nice - nothing against the staff, the valet parking was exceedingly responsive.

Pros:

Thank you, Miguel and Amber, whose professional yet personable approach at the front desk gave me the time and thought to write the officiant speech for the wedding that brought me to Silver Lake.

Cons:

Nothing about the hotel, but I may have forgotten my coat and dustcover in the room's closet. Did housekeeping find anything? Either way, thank you!

Fabulous experience! Every one that works at the hotel goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable!
Pros:

Everyone here goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. From the valets: Oscar, Juar and Carlos, to the desk staff Reesee and America, and then the servers Leslie and Dezzy! There are so many more which names I do not know. The shy kind bartender from England and the loveliest housekeeping staff. I just adored my 2 week stay here. It was my home away from home. Relaxing poolside was sublime. Dining morning, noon amd night was delicious and my room was like a little apartment. I would highly recommend Silverlake Pool and Inn to anyone who wants to feel at home and yet having the luxury of being on vacation!

Highly recommend!
Pros:

We booked the Silver Lake Pool and Inn for a one-night stay to celebrate a birthday. Four of us stayed in the the queen double room and we all absolutely loved it! The view of the hills and the neighborhood were gorgeous. We loved the furniture and design (it felt like a hip and groovy house) and the beds were comfy. We asked for a quiet room and were accommodated, no noise issues to report! Reesee and Perla checked us in, and they were sweet and very helpful and thoughtful. The valet service was excellent and friendly as well. We loved the pool area, which also had a fabulous view. Cocktails and wine at the bar were lovely, too. Hotel was also a quick walk to lots of great coffee shops and restaurants.

Nice hotel but not worth the price
Pros:

Great location and really nice hotel and friendly staff. Pool was great.

Cons:

Not worth the money - way over priced. The furniture in the room looked nice but wasnt actually usable as furniture, so good luck sitting on the chair. Best yet was the toilet seats are cheap plastic. I am a big guy but definitely not fat and the seat just broke. Then there was the smoke detector over my side of the bed that was blinking red all night.

The kicker was that we like to watch TV before bed and they only had basic cable. WTF. Who watches basic cable any more. What was even more messed up was that they disable all of the smart feature of the TV to stream your own shows.

Again, is it worth the $400 to $600 per night - absolutely not.

Definitely wont return.
