The service. No water Kattle, no tea or coffee bags/pods in the room. When asked, it was priced at 5 CHF, apalling!! And most dissatisfactory part, i requested to get two adjacent room for a family of 4, had an acknowledgment from hotel via booking.com, but during check in the attendant said they didn’t receive any such request. Either a lapse from the hotel or the booking.com!! When insisted I got the rooms on same floor but not adjacent. One room had fridge not working and their entire app that controls the room utilities got hung in the morning. Not going to stay in citizenM again, or may be it’s just not meant for personas like me!!

Pros:

The location was excellent, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very quite. The fact that there was a cooling system was especially pleasant during the heat wave.

Would never come back.
Cons:

Clearly a lot of effort was placed on putting clever phrases on every surface with a lot of stylization. No effort placed on actual comfort and convenience. Have to go to lobby and carry up your own water bottle and cups. The rooms are extremely tiny and cramped. Minuscule shower. Terrible mattress. Have to climb over your partner to enter as one side is up against the wall. Very uncomfortable stay. The buffet breakfast is very expensive for powdered eggs and mediocre coffee. To buy a drip coffee on its own was $4CHF for about 4 oz with no refills. No included coffee was the death knell for me.

Technology gone beserk
Pros:

Technology is apparently the only thing they thought about when designing this hotel. I have a tech friend who told me the hardest thing for a techno engineer to grasp is just because you can do it doesn’t mean that you should do it. The room is the size of a walk-in closet and the double bed is jammed up against the window. The person on the inside has to climb over the other person. Sink is outside the bathroom. One chair. Everything runs off an iPad, in the room. Except, it doesn’t. I had to go to the front desk to get the TV turned on. All the shades and lights work off the iPad as well. Turning a switch would be 1/10 the time it takes to fool around with the iPad. Move on unless you’re from Silicon Valley.

Pros:

Be careful with your bill! I was supposed to get a breakfast credit of CHF 20 and they completely ignored this, I didn't find out until I looked later and it was too late

The hip vibe doesn't mean your bill will be correct!
