Pros:

Most importantly, the bed was comfortable and the room was dark and quiet. We loved how this hotel was designed and decorated, from the rooms to the common areas, restaurant and coffee shop. We also enjoyed the pool in the heat of an Austin summer.

Cons:

Parking on-site was expensive. We found off-site parking close by but a bit of a pain to deal with a car.

Cons:

They messed up our payments and charged us more than what we should have paid as they charged one room via Booking.com and one room separately when we checked out. I tried reaching out to the hotel to fix this as the difference was quite substantial, but they have yet to respond to my email, more than a month later and thus I feel that I need to post such a negative review even though the hotel and rest of experience in it iself was really nice.

Very cozy and visually appealing hotel
Pros:

Hotel was very nice. Loved all the greenery. Room was unique and cool.

Cons:

Parking situation was a bit of a pain for a first time guest. Also was not aware that there was a daily parking fee if driving a POV.

Pros:

Good coffee and good breakfast.

Cons:

We like cool hipster hotels, but this one is not cool, it looks cheap. Defenitely not worth the price.
Beds are small.

Peaceful & Cute!
Pros:

Location was great, just out of the chaos of downtown & congress st, but an easy lime bike or uber away.

There’s a peaceful ambience to the hotel, the coffee bar is excellent & adorable. I’d definitely stay here again.

Cons:

The bed wasn’t very comfortable. I got the queen room, I’d upgrade to the king next time for more space & light.

Great for families, couples, or solo. Quiet rooms. Beautiful hotel in great location.
Pros:

Fantastic experience. Hotel was clean, beautiful, and perfect for what we needed. Family came while I was there for business. Pool was great and clean. Rooms are very quiet and my husband even said he couldn’t hear the shower from the living quarters. Water gets very warm/hot and water pressure was great (important to me). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Can’t beat the quality, price, and location. I’m recommending this hotel to family and friends.

An Austin Gem
Pros:

First stay at The Carpenter and definitely not our last. The kitchen provided one of the best meals I have had in Austin. The room was fun. The theme and design throughout was so thoroughly well executed. The pool was charming. The staff was ON POINT at every interaction. Friendly. Helpful. Wonderful. But most of all was what my partner and I talked about—the hotel feels like an oasis. You don't have the feeling you're sitting off of two busy roads. The trees, plants, and layout of the property give a nice seclusion. We were reminded of our recent trip to Costa Rica.
