Please note that from October 2023 to April 2024, the hotel will be undergoing a major lift upgrade project. While this may cause some inconvenience, rest assured that the management is working to enhance the property for your future comfort.

All guests must sign the property’s Terms of Stay.

You must show a valid photo ID and credit card upon check in. This credit card and photo ID must be in the same name as the guest's name on the booking confirmation and on your photo ID. If the booking has been made in a different name to the guest’s name on arrival, an authorization form will need to be completed.

Please note that there is a nonrefundable 2.0% credit card fee when you pay with a Mastercard, Visa, UnionPay, American Express, Diners Club or JCB credit card.

Early check in available for an additional $30.00 from 10:00 am only (subject to room availability).

Late check out is available for an additional $35.00 up until 1:00 pm (day use rate applies after 1:00 pm). Please notify reception by 10:00 am on your check out date if you require a late check out.

Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. The legal guardian must provide a current photo ID or proof of guardianship if requested upon check-in.

We offer our Great Sunrise Breakfast (One Serve of Hot Plated Breakfast: bacon, eggs, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms & baked beans, plus help yourself to toast, cereal, canned fruit, yogurt, pancakes, coffee, tea and juice – No refills) at AUD 21.00 per person (served between 07:30 am to 10:00 am daily).

We would like to inform you that we now offer express check-in and check-out to our guests via kiosks in the hotel lobby. Please feel free to ask our friendly staff upon arrival if you need assistance.

Absolutely love stay at the Great Southern Hotel Melbourne
Pros:

Clean, comfortable and convenient and no stairs. This will be my new hotel to stay in Melbourne. Close to Southern Cross station also. Rooms very spacious also.

Pros:

The convenience of dining in . locality is close to everything , trains & shops.. Nice & friendly staff. Bed was clean & comfortable , shower was excellent. Its like a home away from home .

Cons:

The air conditioner/heater would not work , it was blowing cold air . reception notified & attended with another portable heater , the staff member tried to find out why the remote was not working & realized that it was the WRONG remote to that heater , He was good enough to exchange it for the right remote to the heater . All these checks should be carried out when detailing the room , Not when someone checks in only to be frustrated that the remote was not working . The employee was a thorough gentleman about the situation.

Great location and reasonably priced.
Pros:

Location, good sized room, clean and staff always friendly and accomodating.

Cons:

The room was quite cold as the aircon was not working. We contacted reception and they immediately supplied us with a heater. The beds needed another blanket as well.
