The bathroom was moldy. House keeping barged into our room.
I liked the convenience of the location.
I was highly disappointed paying the price I paid for 2 nights. The hot tub was drained and blocked off which was very disappointing after such a long car ride to there. I was very unhappy with the fact there are only 2 elevators and having to stand and wait close to 5 minutes almost everytime I went to get on the elevator which I know it was very busy that is why I dont understand why there arent more than the 2 small elevators for such a large hotel. The windows on the elevator were disgustingly dirty like they haven't been cleaned in years. I kept sneezing and coughing once in the room so after looking around jt was quick to realize it was due to the room not being nearly as clean as I would expect for that kind of money per night. I took pictures upon inspection of things thst were not clean in the room. I love Marriott and normally have amazong stays at them but this one was no where near my expectations especially on the cleanliness part.
We stayed at the Louisville Marriott East during Derby weekend and had a terrific experience overall.
While the rooms are a bit dated, they were perfectly clean and very comfortable. The bed, in particular, was excellent—exactly what you need after long days out and about.
What really stood out was the service. The staff went above and beyond, with thoughtful touches throughout the Derby weekend that made the stay feel special. The atmosphere was lively but still relaxed, and we especially enjoyed the live music in the evenings.
Logistics were also easy—parking was simple and convenient, and we had no service issues at all during our stay.
Overall, this is a dependable, well-run hotel with outstanding service. I would highly recommend it, especially if you’re visiting Louisville for Derby weekend.

Cleanliness and location
The 2 1/2 hours waiting for room to be ready, while others went right to there rooms.

This is my go-to location for Marriott properties in Louisville. It's a great location and the hotel is always impeccably clean and the staff is extremely friendly. The Charr'd restaurant has very good food and the service from David and the rest of the bar staff is outstanding.
Above all, the main reason I come here is because I find the concierge lounge is extremely comfortable and relaxing and the breakfast experience is always outstanding, specifically due to Nikki's attention to detail, service, and her accommodating personality which is addictive! In the evening, Addis is also an extremely friendly and generous host!

The entire building was beautiful. As soon as we entered our room it smelled clean and was very impressive. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The lighting was great. We had a safe in our room. The staff was very accommodating and was able to get us in our room three hours early. The location was also great. We had quick access to many different restaurants and shopping centers.
The only complaint I could think of would be the vanity light in the bathroom did not work when plugged in.
We were in town for a funeral. It was a great location for our needs. Bed was comfortable and room adequate. Very comfortable lounge bar area for family to visit in the evening. Perfect for our stay and a great price through Trip Advisor!
I stayed here for 4 nights and if it wasn't for the staff in the breakfast area and check in I would have given it one star. Tired hotel that is threadbare. More glaring is the housekeeping. I asked for daily service and the only thing they did was flip my sheets up and replace the towel. Super dirty, no cleaning, the lotion had lipstick on it when I arrived and there was a hair tie on the floor along with a pile of hair in the bathroom. No water in the gym, the pool was scary and mold on the tiles in the pool area were just another sign of poor upkeep. I understand hotels age yet having a good staff focused on cleaning and upkeep is essential. Disappointed by this Marriot.
