Convenient location for downtown Asheville.
Pros:

Convenient location - nowhere is far in downtown Asheville.

Cons:

No safe in the room to store valuables.
Decor was tired - needs a refurbishment.
Staff knowledge of location and things to do in the area was poor.

It was good. If I had stayed for more than one night I would have asked for a room change.
Pros:

Clean and friendly

Cons:

The AC in room 710 was so loud. I didn’t sleep because of this.

Cons:

Learning at check-in that I would be charged $75 for any incidental's and that it may take a week to recover if no charges incurred.

Fortunately there is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel so I did not have to suffer the expense of valet parking.

We expected more from our first Renaissance experience
Pros:

We knew this was an older property and was excited to experience charm, not a very small room, shower that doesn’t work, bathroom barn door that if closed will be opened if someone opens the main door to the room b/c there is hardware sticking out from the main door. We were on the 10th floor and did have a lovely view of downtown with mountains in the background. Check-in had a long line that took a long time b/c this hotel caters to large meeting groups.
We felt as though $25/day for parking was excessive for an open and unprotected lot. We’re Platinum Elite and have never had to pay to park, but they wouldn’t comp this b/c the lot isn’t theirs.
The bright spot was the breakfast buffet ($20pp but complimentary for Platinum Elite and above b/c this hotel doesn’t have a concierge lounge). The food was much better and more tasty than other MB hotel breakfast buffets. The waitstaff were kind and attentive. A lovely and upscale dining experience.

Great location!
Pros:

Stayed at The Renaissance hotel for a quick one night stop in Asheville. I was a little hesitant because of some of the reviews, but it was a great stay. The hotel is older, but well maintained and clean. It was close enough to downtown that I felt safe walking alone, and the hotel was still very quiet. Yes, you pay for parking. You are downtown. But, the parking lot was big with plenty of available space. Staff were amazing and friendly. Would definitely stay again if I make it back to the area.

LUXURY A LITTLE PAST ITS PRIME
Pros:

This is a genuine luxury hotel that is getting a little long in the tooth. Staff is helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. Breakfast is excellent buffet with omelet station. Most listings say they have a pool -- but they don't. Parking lot is dark at night.

Top notch staff
Pros:

The staff was amazingly courteous, professional and helpful. We arrived around 4pm and check in was smooth and quick. No line at the registration. They gave us two free breakfast buffet vouchers. The room was great. Adequate for our needs. The location was perfect for walking to dinner and bars. I choose this hotel for the hot tub, unfortunately I found out upon check in that the pool and hot tub were under renovations and were closed. The breakfast buffet was great with made to order omelette and waffle station.

Mixed Bag
Pros:

Overall positive experience though the first night we experienced a poor night’s sleep due to a deformed mattress. The next morning we reported the issue, which thankfully was remedied.
Unfortunately, the pool, which is shown in a picture on the Bonvoy app and highlighted as an amenity on the intranet at the hotel, was not in operation.
The room was decently appointed and otherwise comfortable.
The unsecured, uncovered parking seemed a bit pricey at 25$/day.
The breakfast buffet was nice- fresh fruit and other hot foods of good quality. The staff member at the bistro during breakfast was EXCELLENT!
Would we stay again- yes, but there is certainly room for improvement at this location.

Conference Stay at the Renaissance
Pros:

The room was nice. I had to call maintenance due to water leaking in bathroom from the floor above. The woman came and was very nice in looking at the issue and it got resolved. Other than that, the stay was great. Conference rooms were nice and food was good.
