Staff was okay
Worst hotel parking in San Diego. The parking structure was designed for small compact cars. If you have a SUV or truck, you will have to curb rash your rims in order to get to the parking structure, as it is a spiral seven stories up, (your car door mirrors are about 4 to 6 inches from scraping the wall)
Not to mention, there is only one trolley cart for the entire hotel. So you will have to stand in front with all your luggage for about 20 minutes until one is ready for you.
The room size was the biggest issue for me, we paid $1800 ( 2 nights total) and in the pictures the room is labeled as a suite. The bathroom was bigger than the living room.
But it is so small and cramped, this room is not designed to have any company it would be for a couple that is only staying for one night that it’s not planning on parking or driving their car
Not only was it a very tight spot to park, and the room was extremely small and cramped, but the room would not cool down, even if the AC was turned on full blast
The AC vents only cooled down the room where you sleep, but do not cool down the living room, which gets it very hot quick.
I RECOMMEND STAYING AT THE HYATT MARINA SPA INSTEAD TO GET A TRUE LUXURY HOTEL FEEL
Estadia excepcional, atendimento excelente
Quartos aconchegante
If you are from out of town flying in, and not self parking, this may be right for you. The room itself is wonderful. The Suite with a King sized bed was like a nice mini apartment and had plenty of space for me to work and to relax a bit.
Now because I drove down to San Diego for a work trip, I did NOT like my choice to stay at this property. Just be aware, if you drive yourself and park yourself, the parking lot is SUPER TIGHT to maneuver through and the spaces are tiny. Entering and exiting the narrow winding tunnels was a nightmare. Once you understand the elevator system you are able to get to where you need to go. The lobby starts on the 12th floor and you take a different elevator to the hotel rooms.
Food at the in house restaurant was good and the dining area was very nice.
As for the employees, everyone was very pleasant and yes, I was asked a few times to sit through a 90 minute presentation but I couldn’t because I was there to work off property. Otherwise I would have lived to hear what they offered.
I can see how this would be a lovely place to stay as long as you are dropped off by a taxi or Uber. My Sunday/Monday night rates were very affordable and the rooms are clean and updated. I had a nice City View and got to watch plans descend. If the parking wasn’t an issue I would rate it a 4/5.
The property was close to our venue.
The parking is horrible and is very pricey!
ok
portions good, not big on the self serve kind of thing and paper cups for coffee in the morning
not at a marrriott anyway
Neighborhood is sad to say in America these days lots of homeless around and urine smell in adjacent block. Not a marriott problem but certainly our nation must come to term with.
Location, convenience and comfortable
Large room and friendly staff
Nothing
Under no circumstances should anyone ever stay in this hotel. I am not joking when I say that I have never written a public review on the internet, but my experience here is (I am writing this from my hotel room right now) is the worst Marriott hotel experience I have ever had. For context, I've stayed in A LOT of hotels - 1,158 Marriott nights, to be exact.
The shower does not have an overhead shower head (I called the front desk about it, and this is not unique to this room. None of them do). It is just a handheld "shower head" that if propped up correctly, MIGHT be tall enough for a midget or child to fit under. The "customer service" here is abominable. Basically for any request, they say "we can't do it because we are a 'timeshare property.'" I have been here for fewer than 24 hours and heard that 3 times - 1) regarding switching rooms to a king bed, when there were many available online when I looked at the Marriott website literally during check-in (the receptionist's excuse - "oh, someone must have just cancelled"...within the 30 seconds that I just asked you about it?! really?!; 2) regarding a late checkout (they said I could have a "late checkout" at 12pm. Which is standard checkout for all other Marriott properties. Platinum members usually can get a late check-out if there are rooms available - and there certainly are. Alas, they can't do it because they are a "timeshare property" - with no reason given as to why being a "timeshare property" does not allow for a normal time checkout; 3) lastly, I asked for compensation for the shower issue, and they "can't do anything because they are a 'timeshare property.'"
Lastly, all of the other typical complaints apply - dark room, slight smell, no bottles of water...the list goes on.
