Starting right at the front door. The bellhops were always there to assist with great energy. The front desk staff was polite and very professional. The room was spotless. Once we finished our cruise, we came back to stay before returning home.
The restaurant pricing was a bit high. The food was very good but $40 for breakfast was more than we cared to spend.
Room was nice and spacious. Breakfast was good. Location good too.
Could improve on the cleanliness.
Nice staff dedicated to opening doors at two entryways. Outstanding housekeeping staff.
Booked expensive Suite with kitchenette. Poor view not at all as per ad pictures….i.e. pictures show Ocean view, however ours was of buildings/ roofs only. Asked for better floor and was refused. Hastings street was the former location of a homeless shelter (later found out from Uber driver) so tons of homeless people nearby. The homeless people block sidewalks which smell strongly of urine. Not safe to walk at night. A few blocks over you will find much better hotels for the same price i.e. Pan Pacific etc. Poor room layout…i.e. Advertised “separate bedroom” was opaque sliding partitions so very easy to wake up spouse when running to washroom or making coffee in morning. Very poorly equipped kitchenette. Will never stay here again.
Can’t say I really like anything special about the property but the staff was friendly and responsive.
Uncomfortable with the homeless and drug scene around the property. The City needs to work immediately to improve the conditions and further damage to the neighborhood.
Loved the location. The size of the suite. The comfortable bed, good shower, coffee pod, staff.
Nothing.
Had to leave for the airport before breakfast, no financial or other consideration!
Entrance was through an alley.
Everything, Staff the room and of course the location.
Nothing.
Easy to reach by train from the airport and warm greetings from all staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping were very helpful.Very convenient for Gastown.
Everything
Nothing
The location is great downtown and nearby good coffee and pastries at Nemesis Gastown. After pulling in to the driveway, we were directed by the doorman to park and check-in. We were warmly greeted by Henry Ito at the front desk. He was very nice and asked a lot of questions and provided great insight into activities in the surrounding areas. They gave fresh baked chocolate chip and salted caramel cookies at check in.
The room was clean and spacious for our family. The bathroom is near the front door and away from the sleeping area which was nice. The TVs are a bit dated and very slow to respond but not a huge issue as we did not spend a lot of time in the room. The fitness center was well equipped and clean. There are Brita water stations all throughout the hotel which we liked. Did not notice any street noise from the room outside of the occasional emergency responder siren. The hotel restaurant has a daily happy hour along with an all day Sunday happy hour. The hotel lobby always seemed to have something going on with people sitting and chatting or having meetings. It was great. Staff were always there to open doors for us, which was nice, but totally unnecessary. The parking garage is across the way underneath the neighboring building. Getting in and out was no problem.
The hotel was fairly priced for the size of the room that we received. They were accommodating with a late checkout allowing us to explore more of Vancouver before leaving. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
This was my first visit to Vancouver, in order to go to an away game for the San Jose Earthquskes vs Vancouver Whitecaps. We stayed 2 nights and wish we’d stayed longer. We really enjoyed the Delta Hotel: we had a corner king suite on a high floor, and that corner window is really worth the small extra cost. Makes you feel like you’re sleeping outside. I also was able to get an early check in at 10:00 AM, which made our day so much easier. Flew in to YVR at 9:00 AM, took the Sky Train to Waterfront station (the end of the line) and walked 1 block to the hotel. Don’t enter the hotel on Hastings, as you’ll have to lift your luggage up stairs. Enter on Seymour St instead.
The hotel staff is super-friendly. The room is laid out well, making it very user-friendly and efficient: lots of outlets, good mattress, place to unpack, free bottled water, coffee machine makes excellent coffee, nice desk, and a small refrigerator with plenty of space (and is quiet). The only “usual” thing I missed was bathrobes and an included breakfast. But there is a food court across the street and Gastown starts at the Waterfront station, so plenty of options nearby. It appears Vancouver really loves its coffee, so try them all.
Because of the central location, we were able to easily take the bus and train to BC Place, Granville Island, the airport, and the Fox Cabaret. Walk to Gastown. Highly recommend Granville Island, especially with a foodie tour, so much great food is there. Also on Sunday night, try out the Fox Cabaret for the Sunday Service improv show. What a gem that was, so amazingly funny and entertaining. Vancouver clearly encourages small businesses to thrive, which gives tourists so much to explore.
The city streets and the transit are clean and quiet, even tho it turns out Hastings St has about a half-mile of homeless people, starting maybe 2 blocks from the hotel. Living in California, I avoid certain areas of SF, San Jose, and LA because so many homeless are whacked out, loud, aggressive, panhandle, and take over areas. Doesn’t appear to be that way in Vancouver, where it took me 2 days to realize there were so many homeless nearby. I noticed Vancouver works at making unhappy stuff less visible: e.g., empty store front windows get papered over with colorful artwork, and the cleanliness helps. It’s not like California, where declining areas look decayed and abandoned. Anyhow, I surprisingly did not feel unsafe walking the streets and taking transit late at night, like I would in California.
And finally, we lucked out. Guess we brought California sunshine with us, cuz no rain all during our stay, even tho rain had been forecasted for weeks. Lucky me! Thank you, Canada!
