Two Stays written into one review since Trip Advisor doesn't let you post consecutively!
We stayed just for the evening last week and again on Monday evening (at the request of my partner who enjoyed it so much he requested I book it again). We both found the Grand Central to be faultless. Ashyln on reception was excellent in sorting out a room request for me as this was my first time taking my better half so wanted to make sure it was a great first impression - it was! The thoughful touches like the postcard and written notes, the wine, the sweet treats all make for a really welcoming stay. On arrival Ellie was warm and professional and again recognised me for my IHG status and welcomed my partner to the hotel.
This weeks stay followed much the same level of enjoyment with a warm & professional welcome and a lovely room up on the 5th floor located in the 1906 extension to the building so it was a large square room instead of the narrower long attic suites owing to the extra floor in this wing.
We found the rooms to be spotless, comfortable and quiet (the joys of thick walls in an old building) Due to this being my partners first time in Glasgow we chose to eat and drink outwith the hotel but he commented on how great Champagne Central looked and owing to him being a bartender, I've promised to return him to sample it!
A wonderful couple of stays over the last two weeks and we will be back again as soon as we both get leave!
Great location. Free bottle of prosecco in our room!
Nothing
I have stayed here a few times the most recent a 4 night stay in a premium room.
The room itself was large very clean & with a comfortable bed.
I was very disappointed to discover that it didn't come with a fridge.
Anyway the worst part was every morning around 5am being woken up by the booming and clanging of the ongoing construction works near the hotel. This racket went on until around 6:30am.
I complained at check out and was told I would be awarded some service recovery points but got no contact whatsoever & no points.
Interesting to note that I cannot leave a review on the IHG site as I'm informed I've already left a review when I clearly haven't.
This hotel is simply beautiful. So well appointed and the staff professional, courteous and friendly.

Excellent location, steeped in history
Not much
Great room that was actually not as small as I expected. For it to be a one person accomodation, it was in fact comfy! The interiors are astonishing and timeless, the service very polite.
nothing really...
Beautiful grand old building, full of old world charm. The room was very comfortable (one of the few places where we could get twin beds). The Champagne Bar is must. The location was great (downtown), plus very easy to park at the public parking with direct access to the train station and hotel, and got a significant reduction in the parking fee. Excellent value for money.
Breakfast was a bit impersonal, very big hotel style, but with a lot of choice.
