Hotel Lucia

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lucia. Erynn was especially helpful and friendly when I asked for local restaurant recommendations. Would definitely stay there again!

From the moment we arrived and chatted with the wonderful William at the front desk, I knew we were home. HE was remarkably friendly, charming, intelligent and helpful. When we arrived, I joked that we had gotten emails offering to bid on a room upgrade and he should give us a room upgrade for free because we had so many problems on our two month long trip. He was incredibly gracious and to our surprise, he upgraded us to a junior suite. We had originally a very nice room, which would have sufficed, but we really appreciated the extra space with our ton of luggage and bags and the two full bathrooms, though small were a nice feature. Then talk about going above and beyond. He had recommended a local pizza place and my wife ordered from them. She had to pick it up as it would have taken too long to get it delivered. When she got back to the room, to her horror she founf out that even though the order listed on the label pasted on the box was correct, they had put the wrong pizza on the box. When she called them they said they would make a pizza, but mt wife said they would have to deliver it as she had to walk 8 blocks back and forth and with her MS causing her problems she wasn’t going to do it again, since it was their mistake. They said they had no way to deliver it. They agreed to refund our money and suggested she order it on their website and a third party to deliver it, which we found out would take another hour and it was already perhaps 10PM. She called William to let him know what happened. He was mortified and said he would personally pick it up himself. My wife told him we could not ask him to do that, because he would have to leave the desk, but he was insistent. And he was as good as his word, delivering it to our room. They gave usthe two sodas we requested as compensation for our troubles and unexpectedly an extra large pizza, far more than we wanted. We gave William the first pizza and most of the extra large pizza for himself and the staff. I hope they enjoyed it.

The next morning we asked Joshua, another member of the staff where to go to breakfast and he recommended Chery’s on 12th l. It was excellent. My wife’s 3 pancakes with chocolate chips was very good, but the cinnamon bun was superlaive. It looked more like a tall piece of cake and tasted like heaven, the best I ever had. It was so big my wife had some, too and we still brought home perhaps a third of it to our room. An excellent recommendation, as we informed Joshua when we returned to the hotel. He was very pleased that we enjoyed it so much. By the way, it was a pleasant day and it was lovely to sit outside. So, I also highly recommend the restaurant, as well.

A lovely, quiet room with everything working perfectly with an even better, even magical staff equates to a lovely, perfect stay. Run to this place. It is an oasis of civilization, exactly what you want when you are on vacation.

Great hotel. VERY tiny bathroom (think airplane sink). Can't bend over and wash face without hitting head on shelf. Other than that a wonderful hotel.

The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond. We loved the 5-6 happy hour, the free bike rental and the charming nature of the place. Also the late checkout option were great!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Lucia. All employees we encountered were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the art and decor. The room was small, but we were perfectly fine with that, as it was only my husband and me.

Great hotel in a fantastic downtown location. Nice style, friendly and helpful staff - the arcade games and beer hour were a definite plus! Will definitely stay here the next time we come to Portland.

Great hotel. Comfortable beds, beautiful clean rooms. There are ingesting at pieces throughout. My teenage boys enjoyed playing the pinball games

The bell person was very helpful with our car unloading, helping us get situated, and letting us take the car upstairs. We love the lobby and the location so we have stayed here four times. It is pleasant and feels safe.
