Best hotel in Chicago one of the best in US I have stayed at.
Location amazing in West loop for bars restaurants etc. and the facilities are brilliant you don’t have to leave at all.
Pool area is very social and cool too. All in all an amazing place to stay
Highly recommend. Helpful staff, cool atmosphere, and comfy bed. Super close to so many restaurants and a quick train ride home or uber to anywhere in the city.
Overpriced for the service and hotel environment. All your money is paying for the "coolness"/Brand, not quality of hotel.
Excellent vibes, always. Its design definetly has a lot of concept. The staff are always pleasant, the bar is always packed and the breakfast at cira really good.
Next trip to Chicago, this is the spot
Small room, no closet (which drove my colleagues crazy), tiny bathroom albeit with large shower (no tub) which enclosed almost 50% of bathroom floor space. Shampoo, conditioner, bath, gel, body lotion, hairdryer, steamer, coffee pot, mini fridge, room safe. No desk in room (which also drove my colleagues crazy). Choices for parking are on your own or valet. Tiny pool 10 ft long by sixish wide. Small fitness room with two Peloton bikes, two treadmills and some hand weights. Free WiFi Super thick window glass, which cuts down outside noise except for the trains. Rooms on southside fair amount of noise from the train/L. as well as corridor and from room next-door. Poor bedside reading lights. Not great room lighting overall as well. 2 bikes in lobby 2 and a half blocks from Green and Pink line L station. Lots of really good restaurants in walking distance.
Our stay at The Hoxton, Chicago was absolutely wonderful. The room was cozy, beautiful, and incredibly comfortable—exactly the kind of space that makes you want to linger a little longer. The staff was warm, welcoming, and made the entire experience feel effortless from start to finish.
Our room had a fabulous view, which made both mornings and evenings feel even more special. A particularly thoughtful touch was the welcome card waiting in the room, acknowledging our belated Mother’s Day weekend celebration. It was such a simple but meaningful gesture that made us feel truly welcomed and appreciated.
Room service was prompt, and the food was genuinely delicious. I enjoyed the fluffiest French toast, perfectly enhanced with granola and apple butter—an unexpected favorite! The bacon was cooked to the perfect crisp, and the eggs were light and fluffy, with the cheese melted beautifully on top.
We also enjoyed lunch at Cabra, which was such a highlight of our stay. The shareable portions were absolutely delicious, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal together. The flavors were vibrant, fresh, and beautifully balanced in every dish. My personal favorites were the shrimp ceviche and the chicken thigh skewers—both were packed with flavor and prepared perfectly. I also loved the “I Guava Have It” cocktail, which was refreshing, creative, and the perfect complement to lunch.
Every detail—from the thoughtful hospitality to the incredible dining experiences—made the weekend feel elevated and memorable. I would absolutely stay at The Hoxton again and highly recommend it for anyone looking for comfort, style, exceptional service, and amazing food in Chicago.
Overall, I’d give The Hoxton, Chicago a 4.1/10. For the price point and reputation, it really did not meet expectations. The hotel feels more focused on getting people to spend money at their restaurants and bars than taking care of the actual hotel guests staying there.
One of the biggest disappointments was not even being able to get a reservation at the rooftop restaurant within 3 hours while staying at the hotel. For a property that markets itself as an upscale experience, you’d expect hotel guests to have some level of priority or accommodation.
I booked through the American Express Hotel Collection and unfortunately they also did not honor the complimentary room upgrade or the late checkout benefits that are commonly associated with Hotel Collection bookings. That made the experience even more disappointing, especially considering the premium price.
Compared to other Hotel Collection properties, this one fell short in service, guest experience, and overall value for the money. The aesthetic and location are nice, but overall the experience didn’t justify the cost or the rating this hotel currently has.
Staff is great. Rooms are small but good. Unfortunately the lobby is super loud. There is a club atmosphere in the evening, which is fine because guests usually have plans. But there was a DJ playing on Saturday at 1pm that made it impossible to stand and have a planning conversation with guests. The nearby train noise didn't wake us but did bother some of our friends who were closest to it.
Great location that is walkable to many bars, restaurants, and shops. Also right near a subway stop. Great free bikes! Only issue is that my wife (5’5”) was too short to comfortably ride their bikes. Hopefully they get a women’s size bike soon. We used DIVVY bikes for her.
Rooms are small but modern, clean, and comfortable. Love the water bottle filler in the hallway.
The only downside is that one side of the hotel faces the elevated subway. We were on the 10th floor and still found it a little bothersome at night, even with a sound machine and earplugs. Request a room facing the other side.
Our first time in Chicago and we had an awesome stay! Thomas at the front desk was amazing and had some great recommendations that helped us truly enjoy our stay! Top notch customer service!
Hotel location is great. It is in the West Loop and close to many restaurants.
I wish there is a gym in the hotel. Or they can have a partnership with gyms close by.
I literally have not had such a bad hotel experience in so long. The hotel manager should be fired. First, it is on an elevated subway train line … so from 5 am until midnight, you hear trains every 7 minutes, even with the windows closed. Second, when I asked to switch rooms, the would not let me see the new room without giving up my room. Since I already had paid for an upgraded room that was terrible, I was nervous about taking the not upgraded room, but they refused to let me see it, so I stayed in the train room. We had a big event here and when they did last call (rather early), they refused to serve drinks. Since we were staying here I asked to have something sent to the room. They said no. Finally ordered Uber Eats and asked if I could wait in the lobby - which was freezing - by the heaters, and they said no. So I had to sit in the freezing part of the lobby. I could go on, but definitely do not stay here.
All great in terms of aesthetics and service, but if you're looking for a place to rest, this isn't it. It's right next to the train line (which makes a lot of noise), AC units are old and very loud, and you might get a room haunted with ghosts that will turn on your bathroom light several times during the night. If you're a light sleeper, this is not the hotel for you.
My favorite Chicago hotel, great location, lively atmosphere and friendly staff. The lobby bar offers morning coffee to evening cocktails serving quality food in a beautiful location.
Nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Clean & comfortable rooms. Nice assortment of dining/drinking options. We enjoyed our stay.
