Pros:

Hotel is clean and very comfortable with restaurant on site. Bed was comfortable and tea/coffee facilities in the room were appreciated.

Cons:

Parking is extra and not straightforward to pay for. It would be better to just have a card reader at reception instead of having to scan codes and use your phone. There is no lift so suitcases had to be carried up the stairs and there was nobody to help.
Understaffed for the Saturday evening with only one waitress to deal with everything.

Good for an overnight stop over and convenient for motorways.
Pros:

Room was fine and beds comfortable. Just an overnight stop on the way home. Breakfast was fresh cooked to order and the evening meal at the in house restaurant was decent "pub grub".
There was a slight issue with our booking which was NOT the fault of the hotel. Margaret on the front desk was superb in getting things sorted out for us. The issue was actually booking.com and their payment system that was the cause.

Cons:

Nothing too serious. Compared to other hotels, the rooms didn't seem to be as well sound proofed. it's clearly an older building, so may have been down to that fact.

Unacceptably hot
Pros:

The breakfast was fine and the bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The room was unbearably hot. No air conditioning - or rather it didn't work - and the windows don't open. A fan supplied was inadequate. As a result we had no sleep.
