Very high standard
Sauna area could have been bigger
We had an absolutely amazing 4 night stay here. The condition of the rooms was spotless and the staff on reception, the bar and during breakfast couldn't have been more charming, friendly and helpful. We felt right at home. The hotel gave us passes for the elevator down to the city centre (which is a short 5 minute walk away through the forest) and we used these every day. Breakfast was delicious and included eggs a variety of different ways to order, oatmeal, waffles or crepes. There was also an excellent breakfast buffet available with lots of varieties of juice and an amazing bread, meat, cheese and fish selection. It was an absolute home from home and we are looking forward to returning. Next time we will invest in a room with a view because only that could make our stay more perfect!
Our stay at Hotel Schloss Mönchstein was truly exceptional and one of the highlights of our trip. We stayed in the stunning Mönchstein Suite, which exceeded every expectation. The suite was spacious, elegant, and beautifully appointed. A real showstopper was the private terrace. The panoramic views overlooking Salzburg and the surrounding mountains were incredible.
The entire property feels like a peaceful castle retreat perched above the city, combining historic charm with modern luxury. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Dining at The Glass Garden was another highlight. The food and service was outstanding and the presentation exquisite (and what views). We look forward to coming back and highly recommend Hotel Schloss Mönchstein to anyone seeking a luxurious and unforgettable stay in Salzburg.
Amazing service down to the smallest detail. I absolutely loved my stay at Schloss Mönchstein. I traveled solo with my young daughter, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Every interaction was warm, professional, and thoughtful.
The food was exceptional, and the wine selection was superb. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. It’s rare to find a hotel that combines luxury with such genuine hospitality.
I couldn’t have been happier with our stay and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

Everything about the Schloss Monchstein was superb. It is in an amazing location, the grounds and hotel are beautiful, the service is impeccable. Dinner at the Glass Garden was amazing and breakfast every morning was wonderful and scenic. The Front Desk and Concierge were very helpful and friendly and made the entire experience the best that it could be. Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.
From the first greeting, the staff was phenomenal! This castle is uniquely charming and overwhelming in its beauty! What a treat to experience such a wonderful city as Salzburg being based at the Hotel Schloss Monchstein!

If you are looking for a luxurious hotel high above the city (but with easy access to the old city), this is your place. The customer service is outstanding. Our room was fantastic, and there was cake and fresh fruit waiting for us on arrival. Our room was immaculate and quiet.
To get to the old city, you walk about 12 minutes to an elevator which whisks you down to the ancient streets below. Too easy.
We appreciated the valet parking and my husband got a great massage that helped his aching neck muscles.
Overall, this is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. Highly recommended!

I would definitely be back. My stay was exceptional, the service was at a high standard, the views were breathtaking and the facilities at the hotel were great. The breakfast was really good as well as the dinner. Definitely worth it.
