Mostly good but surcharge disappointing
Pros:

Location, helpfulness of reception staff, pretty room

Cons:

That we had to pay a heafty surcharge fee for a room with a shower. Room booked with booking.com only had a bath.

Posto bellissimo! A noi hanno assegnato la Fisherman lodge. Provvista di bagno con lavabo e doccia, secondo bagno con WC e lavabo. Due camere doppie con letti singoli. Bellissimo il salottino con divano, due poltrone e una scrivania con due finestre con vista. Proprietari amorevoli, disponibili e amichevoli. Per il resto hotel ben. Curato, sembra una bomboniera in stile scozzese.

PERFECT
Pros:

Immaculate and beautifully furnished, so comfortable. Owners too good to be true. Used this hotel over the years and it just gets better and better. Just too far away to go more often but hopefully I'll manage the journey again. I am a trout and salmon angler and this hotel has fulfilled my needs over the years. However most of the clientele were typical tourists who love fantastic scenery, good accommodation, and appreciate caring hosts.

Cons:

Not having booked for a longer stay. I was on my way home from Orkney and other commitments meant a quick return home.

Etape idéale sur la route du Ross occidental
Pros:

Famille de 4, nous logions dans le fisherman lodge, un petit lodge situé à côté de l'hôtel lui même, que nous avons beaucoup apprécié ! Très propre, plus grand que nous ne pensions (un salon avec une belle vue sans vis à vis, 2 chambres petites mais confortables, 1 salle de bain et 1 cabinet de toilette, une terrasse privée devant le logement, alors que l'on pensait avoir 2 chambres simplement), hyper cosy avec le charme de l'ancien, très authentique, calme, de grandes serviettes moelleuses et un bon débit d'eau... Petit déjeuner fabuleux, et le personnel est adorable. Etape parfaite sur la route du Ross occidental !

Cons:

2 chambres avec 2 lits simples dans chacune, l'hôtel étant spécialisé pour les pêcheurs, notre suite familiale était probablement plus prévue pour 4 personnes seules que pour un couple et deux enfants.
Réseau Wifi pas toujours bon dans la chambre, nous devions aller dans le lobby pour avoir un bon signal.
Peu d'offres de restauration à proximité, ce qui a été notre plus grand bémol (mais l'hôtel n'y est pour rien).

The location, the food, the staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. Lovely atmosphere.

Cons:

I cant think of anything really. Could be considered a little on the pricey side...but its the Highlands...so its all relative when you consider the cost and effort to keep these places going.

Beautiful little Hotel a place one would happily travel to for a weekend away whether fishing or not
Pros:

A lovely find on the west coast, a beautifully curated collection and presentation of fine furniture make up the beautifully presented reception bar and reading areas.
Same for the dining room.
The Scourie born lady who served us in the dining room was excellent, very friendly and welcoming.
A fishermans hotel with lovely fishing theme.
Arrived 6.30pm and asked could we eat in the restaurant which was gratefully allowed despite us not having booked ahead.
The Owners and guests were a little family of regulars.
We rather felt like intruders on a well kept secret.
The food in the restaurant was second to none.
A fine dining, quality experience.
Worth a trip just to eat in the restaurant.
