Overall, I was disappointed with my experience. I had to shorten my stay due to personal circumstances, but the staff showed no flexibility or willingness to offer any form of refund, credit, or goodwill gesture. It felt as though there was no attempt to understand or accommodate my situation.
I also had to change rooms because my original room had poor ventilation. Unfortunately, the replacement room had its own issue the balcony door did not close properly. Before agreeing to move, I asked if I could view the room first, but this request was refused. Instead, I spent most of the day waiting for the room to be cleaned before I could move, when I could have been out enjoying my holiday and simply transferred my belongings later.
Throughout my stay, I often felt that the focus was on generating additional revenue rather than providing a great guest experience. For example, charging an extra €50just to use the spa seemed excessive for a hotel of this standard.
I also found the staff unhelpful when asking for recommendations on places to visit or things to do. It often felt like assisting guests was an inconvenience rather than part of the service. When it came to checking out I had to pay for water I didn’t even ask for and then had to pay tax on days I wasn’t even going to be in the country. I had to insist I did not have to pay it.
Given the price of this hotel, I expected a much higher level of customer service and flexibility. Overall, I did not feel it represented good value for money.
