The Royal Regency Hotel

At first everything looked pretty and clean. BUT, as time went by problems surfaced. When I was unable to turn on the coffee maker in my room, I called the front desk. They told me to get coffee downstairs where breakfast is served. No, I said, I am in my pajamas and want coffee in my room. They said, try this, try that none of which worked... I figured it out by myself after much trial and error. Turned out the lighted power button on the coffee maker also starts the coffee brewing. BUT, it has to be pressed.

When I did go downstairs to eat breakfast,
I found the room to be very, very depressing. Everything was black, including table cloths and curtains. I felt like I was at a funeral!! I then asked the attendant to please crack open the curtains. Viola! Beautiful sunshine appeared and beautiful green plants!

Back in my room, I found the fridgerator in a cabinet below the top front cabinet.
Ok, I can live with that.. BUT, whenever I opened the fridge door, it caused the fridge to tremble and move around. That is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

A simple solution would have been to secure the fridge!

Later in the evening , as I was watching TV, I received a call from the front desk to turn down the volume. Of course, I turned it down. My problem was that, the walls are too thin or lack some kind of soundproofing.

I have traveled extensively for work and stayed at numerous hotels where I have never, ever been told that the volume on my TV is too loud and must be lowered!

On top of all of that, the microwave oven was at the back of a stairwell. Very inconvenient and dreary!

Close to specific areas in Yonkers

Very nice stay. Rooms were clean, Atmosphere was very good. Breakfasts were excellent with very friendly staff. Mercedes was great! Only negative was the extra charge for early check in when registering as the room was already ready.

Very clean and accommodating room. Staff was great. Breakfast was great. 10/10 experience.

A very convenient hotel off the Major Deegan. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms could use some modernization having the ice machine and microwave on the top floor was a little ridiculous. The restaurant was very courteous and the breakfast was delicious. Bottom line I'd stay here again. For tge price you can't go wrong.

That it was centrally located. Even though the hotel wasn’t the best the staff was amazing and very accommodating. And the breakfast was really good.

The room very nice, lots of room and bed was comfortable. The ONLY problem I had was the walls being so thin so I could hear the couple next to me and it was extremely loud.

Loved the layout of the room and how the bathroom is somewhat open to the room. I enjoyed the free breakfast that was a great amenity and I did like that there is a lounge/restaurant for an option at noon and night. I disliked the smell of cigarettes that lingered around the elevator and halls and the noise from the next room. I give it a 4 star!
