Hotel is mostly fine, but there are several annoyance that causes me to dislike it.
Pros:
- Location - short walk to Fremont street (if that’s your thing), Triple George restaurant right across the street
- Clean
- Quiet - inside the tower (this may be due to there being very few guests at the hotel at the time I was there)
Cons:
- Maintenance - bathroom door handle broken, toilet runs unless you open the tank & lift the filler handle, shower head clogged & very worn, …)
- Old, scratchy towels (& only 2 sets)
- Cheap toiletries (particularly the toilet paper & tissues = both like sandpaper)
- Security - twice I exited the tower elevators to find homeless people sleeping in the chairs ; elevator nearest the wall doesn’t require a room key to access the room floors (2 elevators did, but this one didn’t)
- Room keys - I had to go to front desk twice as both keys I had stopped working
- Pool closed with no notice - told me at check in rather than at booking
I usually stay on the strip, but thought I’d see what downtown was like. Not for me (way too seedy & neighborhood outside of Fremont street is scary w/ limited/no non-hotel dining & sports bar / pub options).
We were in Vegas for our son’s wedding. Came early to hang out on Fremont. Really liked this hotel. Staff was great. Rooms clean. We liked how it was just off Main Street. We could hear the night life but not enough to disturb sleep. Will definitely stay here again.
Hotel in a great location for Fremont Experience. Nothing fancy but staff very friendly. Only compliant was that elevator was very noisy and all though our room was down the hallway, we heard the grinding all night long and it was very annoying.
I had a great time, but they should really do something about the rooms I had to move rooms because things weren’t working plus the front desk Staff is a little bit rude so are bellhops everything little thing cost money
Hotel is super clean, all the staff is friendly
I love staying at the Downtown Grand. It’s clean, fun and the people are very friendly! I love that it’s just far enough away from the madness of Fremont Street but still close enough to enjoy the fun. Prices are fair, parking is close, easy and free if you play. This is my place for every trip, at least 4-5 times a year.
Super great location. Close enough to the action of Fremont street but far enough away so it was quiet.
Hotel room was clean and nice.
The elevator was very loud and even from my room I could hear it all night.
And no coffee maker or mini fridge in room?! Super disappointed as I had to go down and pay for coffee every morning which kinda sucked.
But otherwise it was a nice stay.
We have stayed twice and from now on will only stay here when going to Vegas, especially Fremont Street.
It is block from Fremont, and block in other direction for the Mob Museum.
It's a very quiet place to stay, the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and nice. We always have a cooler with us, so no frig is not a problem.
There is a fun coffee/ breakfast cafe called the Art Bar to get pastries, fruit, and drinks.
The rooftop pool area is comfortable, with a lot of options.
We really enjoy our stay. A block from downtown and restaurants near by. staff was friendly. The one restaurant the hotel had was good. Breakfast was served fast and delicious. We will definitely be back.
Enjoyed our stay at the Downtown Grand. Easy check in, clean and comfortable room. Convenient free parking wad a plus. Will definitely stay there again.
Our experience was not great. The first room we were given smelled really bad and we had to request to switch rooms. The second room was better, but the pillows smelled very dirty, which made the stay uncomfortable. I hope the hotel improves the cleaning and checks rooms more carefully before guests arrive.
Wonderful service from the hotel staff! My stay, from start to finish was amazing! Highly recommend the grand to anyone.
Worst experience! Rude hotel staff at front desk, begging for tips. The bell man was superb rude and asked for a tip multiple times and embarrassed me me in front of everyone
We recently stayed at this hotel and appreciated the location however there were a few challenges that impacted our stay.
The first day we did not have any hot water which made it extremely inconvenient after a long travel day.
The noise level throughout the stay was also higher than expected through the night.
I also did not know that the housekeeping was only provided upon request.
I hope this feedback helps future guests experience
I don’t recommend the hotel stay or gaming here. Place is run by amateurs. 3 Cash machines but always broken. Machines malfunction occurs often. Few of the workers are great but so many have don’t care and don’t want to be there attitude. casino floor feels dirty and gloomy even with all the slot machines. In terms of gaming, the slot machines payout is very questionable if is near the state guidelines percentage. If you first walks in play one machine betting $3 and loosing $3,500 without a bonus is a very serious issue. it not a very good feeling to be ambush when you just walked in. Honestly, I was furious beyond point. That wasn’t the only time I have issues with their slot machine. I lost a lot of money there and it makes no sense. So many dead machines or traps, so play with caution and use your better judgment if you decide to play there.
The hotel room is basic, no frills and no glams. I Would recommend Circa casino. The up to date modern technology. I love the shower and bed. It’s super comfortable best in downtown. In terms of the stripes, I recommend Fountainebleau Hotel with state of the art from elevators, hotel amenities, and the spa with snow shower.
Front desk was fast and friendly! Room was clean and comfortable. Awesome location!
Hotel elevator noise was so bad you can’t sleep. Food places close very early and not open during the week. Bartender was rude. Will not ever return to this hotel.
Fantastic hotel and Casino very clean and tidy, will definitely book there again next year
This was our first time in Vegas and I chose to stay here and I’m so glad I did. We’re right there at freemont street where the party goes on all night. You can get drunk and just walk back to your room. The service was great. The bed was probably the best one we’ve slept on in a long time as far as hotels are concerned. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip.
My partner and I could not have asked for a better time at Downtown Grand. From the very moment we walked in, we were greeted by Hope who was endlessly accommodating and friendly with us. Having never been to Vegas, this was the perfect first impression. She even would check in with us throughout the weekend when we crossed paths to see how our stay was going. Frankly, I’d stay here again if it meant Hope would help us check in again (maybe if we get enough points on that Rewards Card she could be our personal host!)
Our suite was clean, spacious, and offered a beautiful view of the neighboring casinos and rooftop pool. Some mornings it was hard getting up and leaving because it was so relaxing to sit in.
Luckily, the casino on the ground floor was equally inviting, offering generous minimum bets, personable dealers, and even a solid cafe to start the day right. Also that $3 beer and hot dog combo is no joke, hard to pass up.
All of this, and barely a block from Fremont St. Honestly, walking out of the hotel you’re pretty much already there, but with the added bonus of going home to a quiet hotel room. If we happen to stay in Old Vegas again, I know where we’re booking, no question.
