We liked our stay very much. The accommodations were great. The location in Oak Park is great. We especially liked Egg Harbor for breakfast and Victory Italian restaurant. So, whenever we come to visit our son and his family, we will be staying at The Carleton. Clean rooms, good service, and a good value. It was all great.

Location, space and great bed
The location
Everything and everyone was devine.
We had our wedding reception at The Carleton and we cannot express how much we love this hotel and team members!
From the start, we worked with Katie Fox for our event and she is PHENOMENAL. Katie truly belongs in hospitality as she is kind, helpful, responsive and truly engaged from start to finish. The hotel is so lucky to have someone like her on the team!! We consider her a friend as the entire process felt like she was someone we have known for a long time.
Our food was from the restaurant on site called La Notte. Chef Gio is a man of his craft and the food is incredible. All of our guest were impressed as it is not your “typical” banquet style food. This Italian focused restaurant really is a hidden gem in Oak Park.
We also had many friends and family stay at the hotel over the weekend and the Front Desk Team (Moises and Ronnie are great!!) were all so welcoming and helpful throughout the weekend.
We already know we will be coming back next year for our anniversary. The hotel itself is charming, historic and inviting. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Mike as well and you can tell he loves the hotel business. Coming from hotels myself, it is hard to find great hospitality sometimes but this hotel doesn’t miss a beat. Thank you to The Carleton for truly making our weekend we will never forget.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Carleton of Oak Park. I will definitely come back here if I visit Oak Park again in the future!
Vintage charm and a great location. The rooms are not cookie cutter chain hotel rooms but are well appointed and tastefully decorated--they are also a bit more spacious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The pub, Poor Phil's, is very good too. I have stated in the Carleton three times in the last year and a half, traveling for both business and pleasure.
They allowed us to change rooms the second night and the day clerk was very kind and helpful. The night clerk was not particularly friendly or welcoming, though she was ok.
Both rooms we had were clean in the main areas, but underneath furniture and small spaces between the bed and wall or behind the door had obviously not been vacuumed or swept and there was debris. We even found a pill behind the night stand while searching for an outlet!
Great staff and the hotel was easy to find, get checked in and parked. Limited free parking, but it was not an issue for my stay. It was very quiet and the rooms are nice.
We enjoyed our stay at the Carleton of Oak Park. My husband I were in town for our daughter's wedding. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Katie in particular made sure that everything went smoothly. Our room was lovely and very clean. We liked the old world charm of this hotel. The walkable area around the hotel felt safe with nice places to eat and shop.
Bed was comfortable, the suite well appointed.
Someone was blasting a t v next door and woke me up at six thirty a m.
