Reasonable hotel to stay in Bilbao once you work out the metro system near the hotel
Pros:

We liked our room and the facilities at the hotel. It was pleasing that you could purchase fresh pastries for breakfast and coofee at the main bar instead of paying a large amount for the buffet breakfast.

Cons:

It was a lot further to the old town area than we expected (walking) but the staff told us about the metro which was close by for the return journey

Hotel sehr gut, Zahlungsweg zu verbessern

Das Hotel sauber und gepflegt, das Personal freundlich, die Bar nett, die Betten bequem, das Frühstück wirklich gut und abwechslungsreich und ein Stellplatz fürs Auto vorhanden. In die Innenstadt kommt man, wenn auch durch lange Wege und viele Treppen kompliziert, nach einer angemessenen Zeit zu Fuß.

Cons:

Was gar nicht geht, ist nach Buchung eine unmotivierte SMS in einer mir fremden Sprache als Zahlungsaufforderung mit Eingabe meiner Kreditkartendaten. War zu dem Zeitpunkt in Asien mit unsicherem w-lan unterwegs und es ist nicht schön, den komplett Betrag so bezahlen zu müssen. Das lösen andere Hotels deutlich besser zum Beispiel buchen über Booking von der Kreditkarte ab. Ein Anruf bei Booking half auch nicht weiter, weil der Mitarbeiter keinen englischsprachigen Mitarbeiter im Hotel erreichen konnte... Würde das Hotel aus diesem Grund auch kein zweites Mal mehr buchen.

Bilbao great place to visit
Pros:

Great well run Hotel with helpful and cheerful staff.
Breakfast was very good.
Air con good and quiet.

Cons:

The swimming pool arrangement by the hotel was strange.We arrived on 30th May and the pool was closed ( beautiful weather) we were told they were waiting for permission from the council to open. It was 20e to use the indoor pool in the Metropolitan Gym??
On 1st May the pool opened and a sign said the pool was for Hotel guests only but it was being used by many Gym members who took up all the sunbeds.

Fantastic hotel.
The Hotel was easy to find and the staff very welcoming.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The beds comfortable and rooms cleaned daily.
The facilities, the gym was phenomenal, huge with all kinds of equipment, this was at an additional cost €9 per day.
On my birthday the Hotel put a chocolate and fruit platter in the room with a card, this was a wonderful touch.
Breakfast was great, wonderful selection.
I would definitely be returning.
