Inn at Union Square

Our experience was underwhelming. The building was underwhelming and we did not stay the night, with the expectation that a refund would be fairly considered. The staff was unclear about this procedure and we were told that a manager would review the request in 3 weeks.

Simply, don’t expect customer service and be prepared to deal with the reality.

Deciding to leave, we found our claim immediately denied through our booking group. It would have been considerate to have known that we feasibly had no opportunity to recoup this expense. This would have helped with our decision making.

The true experience, is a damp, confined building desperately needing improvements.

Everything listed online is for show, as for the morning breakfast we were told that it was coffee with snacks. That could qualify as continental but advertised is a “very good breakfast” and a wine happy hour. The sole person at the front was not very enthusiastic about this information as we had to ask ourselves about this service, as it’s clearly a false sell point.

The room did not have air conditioning, with the only option to fresh air from a window with no screen dumping into an abandoned alley. We are traveling with a child so leaving the window open would have been unsafe. The bedding had stains on it and the hotel generally has seen better days. As said, this was discussed and when asked for a refund we were told they had no control of issuing a refund, and that we would have to work with our booking agent. We facilitated this, but simply this effort was only a gimmick of their to be hospitality.

For 260$ on a Wednesday night, you would think the cleanliness and comfort would be suitable. The carpet did not look suitable for crawling, and the mattress with it’s accompanying foam piece was as old as the historic row building.

Every time I stay in San Francisco, I stay at the Inn at Union Square. It’s conveniently near almost everything I find myself doing when in town. I’ve been helped on multiple occasions by Esly who is extremely nice and accommodating when I need to leave my luggage because I arrive early into town. There is a full day parking garage around the corner for $40 per night. I have never had any complaints with this hotel. It’s always top notch in cleanliness.

Excellent location near Union Square. The room was clean, comfortable, and charming, making it a great choice for a short stay in San Francisco. He was warm, professional, and incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well taken care of. His excellent hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. Great location, close to everything. The rooms where amazing and clean! No noise even if you are in the center of the Union Square, great wifi and reception was incredible!

We had a *3-night stay as a couple at Inn at Union Square
and had a really lovely experience.

As soon as we arrived, we were kindly upgraded to a room overlooking the street, which allowed us to really enjoy the atmosphere and energy of San Francisco. It was such a nice touch and made our stay even more special.

A special thank you to Antonio, who was absolutely wonderful. He was professional, extremely kind, helpful and attentive, taking the time to explain everything to us and provide us with all the information we needed. A truly lovely person who made us feel very welcome.

We also really enjoyed the easy-going, relaxed American-style breakfast. You simply go down to the second floor and enjoy it in a cozy little lounge, with the option of taking whatever you like back to your room. Very chill and convenient!

The location is excellent, making it very easy to explore the city. Our room was clean, comfortable, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming hotel in a great location in San Francisco!

Wonderful room/suite, and location. Clean and quiet despite being in the center of all the action!! The complementary breakfast was great. The room was a suite - very spacious. Great shower, closet, refrigerator, etc. There are robes, coffee, 2 televisions, and enough space for two people who want to do very different things. Vewry well set up. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great experience at The Inn at Union Square! The hotel was exceptionally clean, they cared about every detail, and the location is perfect for accessing the cable car, BART, and other transport options. We were welcomed by Antonio, a super friendly guy who gave us all the details we needed for our stay. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and close to great sights. We would definitely stay here again!

This is an older inn but the room was updated, new bathroom and everything was clean. Excellent value for the great location! Even though it is in the city, the room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
