Customer service
Very clean
Our family and friends were in town to celebrate the graduation of our granddaughter from Spelman College last week. JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead is always our first choice. We had the pleasure of being checked in by the same wonderful front desk attendant Anya. The service was amazing from the entire staff. We apprreciated the shuttle service to the local restaurants. You can not beat the location of this hotel, we love that it's connected to the Lenox Square Mall.
Location and facilities were very good
The parking fees were very expensive
Breakfast could be better
If you are in town for an appointment at the French Consulate, the location of the JW Marriott Buckhead is impossible to beat. It’s right next door, and the immediate access to the MARTA makes getting downtown for sightseeing a breeze. While the convenience and the connection to Lenox Square are 5-star features, the actual stay experience was a bit of a roller coaster.
The "Upgrade" That Wasn't
Having stayed here before in much better rooms, I was disappointed by my "upgraded" room this time. Located at the end of a long hallway, it was smaller, awkwardly shaped, and lacked a couch—featuring only a single chair instead. It felt like a downgrade in everything but name. Furthermore, the swap from Nespresso to an Illy machine was a letdown for a morning coffee drinker.
Dining: Hits and Misses
The restaurant remains a high point. I had an excellent patty melt and fries that was surprisingly high quality for the price point. The breakfast waffle with pecans is also a must-try. Unfortunately, the cafe downstairs is the weak link; the food choices felt processed and "chemical," and the service there was the only instance of poor hospitality I encountered.
The Executive Lounge
The Concierge Lounge offers a spectacular view of the Atlanta skyline that shouldn’t be missed. The cheese selection is solid, and the smoked salmon and bagels at breakfast were a nice touch. However, the rest of the lounge food is clearly industrial—the evening appetizers tasted like frozen Sam’s Club canapés, and the pastries and desserts were uninspired.
The Lobby Situation
The biggest detractor was the atmosphere during the final 48 hours. A massive group of high school students effectively took over the hotel. They were everywhere—crowding the elevators and making the lobby nearly impossible to enjoy. It was a bit of a culture shock; I was well into my 30s before I could afford to stay at a JW Marriott, yet here were 14 and 15-year-olds treating the property like a youth hostel. For a luxury-tier hotel, the lack of crowd control in the common areas was disappointing.
Summary
The service (outside of the cafe) is impeccable, and the location is perfect for logistical needs. However, the hotel needs to be more mindful of how large groups impact other guests, and they should reconsider their "upgrade" logic for frequent travelers.

It was amazing! The hotel the staff the area just everything
Just a really pleasant stay. Really enjoyed the experience and the hotel and the facilities were excellent. The views of Atlanta from the room were memorable and what a great place Buckhead is.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well run hotel. Vladimir at the front desk was very helpful, particularly when we needed to extend our stay due travel problems caused by the snow storm. Cassandra was very helpful with pre-trip questions. Due to my Marriott Bonvoy level, we enjoyed staying on the Concierge Level, including the great breakfast in the lounge. The housekeeping was excellent. The swimming pool was a pleasure, as it was long enough to swim laps (probably about 20 meters in length) & very clean & peaceful. However, there are a few areas that could be improved: First, the Destination Fee includes numerous burdensome rules & requirements, which I would rather not spend my time & energy dealing with. Second, the hotel fee for self parking is extremely expensive & makes a hotel guest feel exploited. Third, the restaurant is a sad place to eat any meal in, having no ambiance whatsoever and a very ordinary menu. The lounge area, however, was lively in the evening and served great cocktails, but uninteresting, overpriced food. Overall, we enjoyed our stay due to our comfortable, quiet room and helpful, friendly employees.
