I liked the location and price
The sound proofing was not good
I could hear all the noise from the floor every one's foot steps in the corridor
What went well?
The previous QT in Sydney, went well. Excellent experience, but not again.
Woeful lack of management, inadequate staffing and mean mgmt choices. Staff themselves were great, but inhibited by management.
Dining Room queues into the foyer, coffee finally delivered after breakfast cooked, eaten and table cleared! .."free breakfast" meaning cant have a juice or fruit if you have a dish; locking 1 of 2 lifts off incl at checkout/ Breakfast time (plus 1 lift not working).
Acoustics near noisy lifts at night, and when a crowd in nearby room - atrocious - no sleep till after midnight...
Room service was nice and came quickly.
I was very disappointed about not having a car space. I have stayed here many times and have always come back to this one hotel every time I am in Canberra. But to arrive in mid winter in the dark, and, as a non local, being told to go park several blocks away in a place I have never seen and download a parking app and find my way there and back with my suitcase and bags was disappointing. It took me 45 minutes and an extra $35 to do this before I finally got to my room. I was so frustrated that I ended up not eating in the restaurant and stayed in my room.
Room upgrade after complaining
Placed too low for promised city views, only views of massive light rail construction site. Construction site also blocked the recommended 800m path, so needed to walk triple the distance.
Also, buffet wasn't traditional buffet.
I had only arrived, went into my room, used the bathroom and went to wipe my hands and I was horrified to discover my hand towel had blood and revolting crap on it. Couldn't get housekeeping rang reception and response was we will get someone to swap all your towels. Housekeeping came and all they did was stand there and I had to give the revolting towel back to them , they didn't ask for the towel I had to give it to them and they didn't do anything else. I was so underwhelmed by how I was treated with this horrifying discovery that I discussed it at the dinner I was attending and they were mortified I wasn't offered another room. I won't be staying their again or recommending anyone else to stay there. I was there to see a very sick in hospital and this was not a good experience to have for a very sad visit.
Price
Next to a noisy lift, reception did not care, hot water in shower was not great.
Convenient location
The bathroom had hair in the shower and in the sink when we checked in
Comfortable rooms in good location.
No parking available in the hotel and additional charge for parking in the hotel.
Nicely decorated room.
A bit dark and there were not many power points in useful places (by the bed). A bit a walk to the city centre.
It was close to the place where our first event was held. It had a few shops close by that we needed to access.
NA
Good but expensive restaurant below close to good coffee shops
Very noisy with the tram works and hard to access via road
Nothing compared to comparable accommodation
Our room was next to the lift well and although we immediately advised them that we weren’t happy with the constant noise, we were advised that that lift would not be in service after 8pm, however the other lifts were still in service making our stay unbearable. We would have been better staying on a main highway!
When complaining the next morning we were just faced with excuses and given a business card of a manager to contact
Pathetic!
Would NOR RECOMMEND the hotel
Location, very clean and comfortable
Price is slightly higher compared to other hotels but cleanliness makes up for it
Comfy bed and clean rooms
Great vibe. Nice bar
Our bed sagged on one side and husband slept on a slope the entire night
