Canberra, great for War Memorial...but little else
Pros:

clean and comfortable room. Staff pleasant

Cons:

location and simple things like no coffee sachets available. My partner doesn't drink from pods also only one actual tea sachet.

Returned for a second time this year
Pros:

I reviewed this hotel when I last stayed in April 2026 and it appears my feedback about the slow food and beverage service I encountered last time was listened to because the service at the bar, breakfast and room service this time were all much faster. The winter breakfast special was also a nice surprise. Well done F&B.

Only mild criticism was that one half of my king bed was clearly wearing out and overly soft from years of almost daily use by different sleepers. This is not unusual in hotels as mattresses wear out far quicker than yours at home due to the beds having different people sleeping on them each night but the experience would be elevated if the aging mattresses were replaced soon.

It was otherwise a nice place to retreat to after a long day of work.

Anniversary stay.
Pros:

The room was clean and fresh. Restaurant was so convenient. Food was amazing. We also got given a bottle of wine for our 6 yes Anniversary.

Pros:

Central location, good size room, comfortable. Loved the Dyson hairdryer!

Cons:

Bathroom floor was freezing (stayed during winter) and the shower flow quite feeble and not quite hot enough. Parking was expensive as was the minibar.
