We were able to park our car early in the day and explore Victoria while waiting for our room. The front desk staff were very friendly. The floor to ceiling windows with views of the inner harbor and Olympic mountains were spotless.
Can’t think of a thing!
The rooms were flawlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and elegantly furnished. The bed provided exceptional comfort. Additionally, the hotel was ideally located, offering easy access to nearby attractions, dining options, and shops.
Het prachtige uitzicht
Alles was fijn.
The unit was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing!
We absolutely loved our stay here and it ended up being one of our favourite hotels during our Western Canada road trip.
From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to make our stay feel special. We were travelling as part of our wedding trip and the thoughtful touches from the hotel really elevated our experience and made us feel celebrated.
The room was spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. The bed was especially comfortable, making it easy to relax after busy days of exploring.
The location was another huge highlight. Everything we wanted to see in Victoria was within easy walking distance, including great restaurants, shops and attractions, so we hardly needed to use the car at all.
Overall, the combination of the excellent location, comfortable accommodation and exceptional hospitality made this a memorable stay. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria.
Our room was big, with a kitchen and a sofa and a lovely view of the harbour.
Just FYI, there is no restaurant or dining room.
It feels more like a block of apartments than a hotel in some way.
Location is good.
Parking was free and under the building.
Nothing to not like.
First off, the staff were all superb. From the folks at the reception desk to the housekeepers that kept our place so tidy, all were the picture of care, friendliness and excelled at serving me and my wife.
What could've been better? Maybe a small wok in the kitchen. With Chinatown so close, I would've like to do a little grocery shopping and cook up a small chinese feast.
View and room size
Sparce and barely adequate furniture and very dated appearance. It could be spectacular but it is just about adequate.
Beware the mapping apps directions - The parking for the hotel can only be accessed from Wharf Street from the Johnson Street side - you can’t go straight down on Yates St nor turn left into the garage from Wharf Street.
We booked this hotel a day before arriving in Victoria as we saw the reviews and thought they looked great!
There’s some good things about this hotel so let’s start there….
Location is good close to the harbour with parking available in a secure car park under the hotel.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and the housekeeping service every day was very good.
The bed was comfy too.
But the most disappointing thing for us was the awful service on reception.
The “gentleman” who was frequently on reception barely acknowledged our presence. Upon walking through the hotel he wouldn’t even look up from his phone and computer.
At one point after an evening out I said hello and didn’t even get a reply!
I did have questions to ask about the area but was made to feel so unwelcome that I found the answers elsewhere.
Training is needed here. On a few occasions at the beginning of our stay we tried to make a conversation with the individual but it was one way traffic.
I get not everyone wants to speak to people but front facing reception staff at a “quality” hotel should have a basic level of courtesy and the ability to converse and make guests feel welcome.
Throughout our trip to Canada we have always found everyone so friendly apart from this individual.
It turned the experience into a disappointing one. The only time we have felt this on our tour of many places in Canada.
Other small bits to note;
The hotel is quite dated, has no gym or spa facilities. It has a 1990’s theme and the reception area does not make it look like the quality of hotel that the other reviews or the website suggests. (Again these things are trivial and would not have caused this negative review on its own).
The location is great. The suites are very spacious and clean, I would stay here again! We stayed in a waterfront suite - the harbor can be noisy during the day but we loved watching all the boat and seaplane traffic.
Location for the view of the water. But it was not as described in a phone conversation
Poor signage, made it difficult for Uber operators to locate!
We always stay at the Regent when we are in Victoria. The property is beautiful, the units are clean and well maintained, and all the employees are friendly and efficient.
