Nice place if you need a room near town
Pros:

Clean, new building, staff were accommodating and friendly. Rooms were decent size and plenty of storage. Easy transport link with a tram stop outside taking 5 mins into the main city (walking was about 15mins). Close to Europcar car rental. Large car park. Bar open 24/7.

Cons:

Breakfast and drinks were pricey. €18 per person per morning is a bit much, considering it’s roughly half that for a decent breakfast for 2 in town. Also, €8 for a bottle of water in the hotel, but there is a kiosk across the road and a “Penny” store within 5 minutes walk.

For me, great location, and a good stay
Pros:

I was attending a show at Bochum’s Jahrhunderthalle, and the location couldn't have been better for this. So I'm rating it highly, though the surrounding area is pretty much devoid of places to eat and drink, and is frankly a bit run down. There are trams right outside the hotel, however, so you could get to civilization pretty easily. The bar is 24-hour, and is a good place to hang out. Basically the hotel is a bit of an oasis in a desert. The staff are very good, very friendly. Oh, and the hotel is dog-friendly, which I always like to see!

Cons:

My only gripe is that the food is pretty basic. Breakfast has a limited selection - it's not bad, it's just a bit meh. However the hot food in particular is a let-down, and is pretty bad. The only other food comprises bar snacks, which are okay, but again not much more than that. The (small) Ruhrpott seemed to include some reheated breakfast items, which wasn't a particularly appetising sight, and was very disappointing. Its resemblance to a proper Ruhrpott was minimal. I wouldn't mention this but for the fact that the lack of nearby eateries meant that I had no choice but to rely on the hotel food. I wish it had been better.

Pros:

Parkplatz Situation top, freundlicher Empfang/ Personal, die Nähe zur Jahrhunderthalle, gemütliches Zimmer mit richtig guten Betten und zwei Kissen, Badezimmer mit tollen Pflegeprodukten und Handtüchern von guter Qualität.

Cons:

Mir fehlte die Minibar!
