Gorgeous hotel. Plan not to eat there and book restaurants etc outside the hotel.
Pros:

Hotel ambience and quality of furnishings and fittings excellent. Our room was spacious, elegant and bed very very comforable. No room for improvement on bedroom.

Cons:

Found the reception staff underqhelmeing. Dinner in the Alexander Room - the Manager gave us menus and disappeared. 15-20 minutes later we had to approach a junior bar staff member to get drinks and food.
The food was very average. Breakfast was not something I would like to repeat with cold scrambled eggs, cold baked beans. The only tasty, quality items were the fruit. Next day breakfast across the road at a cheap casual spot was excellent in comparison

Overall a good stay and I will return to stay again.
Pros:

Location was good - just opposite the main train station. Breakfast was good but was relatively the same food everyday. I was fortunate that there were no tour groups during my stay and I could enjoy the vibes of the hotel better.
