Fantastic location from the unique entry through a cave rising through the top of a hill right in the centre of town with fantastic views overlooking the town and waking up to the overwhelming view of the Matterhorn. The suite was amazing no words. The team made our stay. They were professional but caring and made our stay extra special....massive thank you. Can't wait to return to enjoy this special atmosphere
I had a wonderful stay at THE OMNIA. The hotel is beautiful, the service is exceptional, and the location could hardly be more convenient for exploring Zermatt.
The service throughout my stay was particularly impressive. Everyone at reception was incredibly welcoming and helpful, offering several excellent restaurant recommendations as well as suggestions for walks around the village where I could find particularly nice views. There were also countless small touches that showed how attentive the staff were. More than once, as I was walking toward the elevator to leave the hotel, someone at reception noticed and beat me to pressing the button so that it would already be waiting by the time I got there. It is a tiny detail, but very representative of the level of service I experienced throughout my stay.
I especially appreciated their help when I first arrived in Zermatt. I was hoping to make it up the mountain on the Gornergrat Railway before service ended for the evening, so I arrived at the hotel in a bit of a hurry and explained the situation. The reception team immediately understood and made the check-in process exceptionally quick and efficient, allowing me to get back out and on my way to the mountain with plenty of time. It was exactly the kind of thoughtful and flexible service that makes a difference.
Breakfast was another highlight. The food was spectacular every morning, and the service was consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive. Everything felt extremely high quality — even the croissants tasted as though they had come straight from an excellent French pâtisserie. It was a fantastic way to start each day.
The location is also excellent. The hotel is right in the heart of Zermatt, surrounded by restaurants and shops, while the train station, Matterhorn Valley Station, and Sunnegga funicular are all roughly a 5–10 minute walk away in different directions. That makes it incredibly easy to explore both the village and the surrounding mountains.
The hotel itself has plenty of character. The entrance is particularly memorable: you enter through a tunnel carved into the rock before taking an elevator up into the hotel, which has a very cool, almost James Bond-like feel. There are also wonderful views from the hotel terrace and the area immediately outside the hotel. Even if your room does not include a Matterhorn view, you certainly do not have to go far to enjoy one.
I booked the smallest room category and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and generously sized the room felt. It was beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. The Aesop bath products were excellent, and the complimentary bourbon in the room was a particularly nice touch after a day in the Alps. Housekeeping was also excellent throughout my stay and kept everything spotless.
My only minor suggestion would be to modernize the room keys. The hotel still uses traditional physical keys rather than key cards. While this has a certain rustic charm, as a practical matter it is less convenient to carry around, and I was a little surprised to see it at a hotel of this calibre. I would personally prefer a modern key-card system, although this is a very small point in the grand scheme of an otherwise exceptional stay.
Overall, THE OMNIA was a fantastic base for my time in Zermatt. Between the beautiful and spacious room, spectacular breakfast, exceptionally attentive service, memorable setting, and extremely convenient location, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return.
I would never dream of staying anywhere else in Zermatt. The staff were always friendly, welcoming and provided extremely helpful information for us first-time visitors to Zermatt. The rooms are genuinely comfortable and meticulously clean. The duvets, towel and linens are very high quality. We used the wellness area ---saunas, steam rooms and pool-- every day because they were so restorative and calming. You have an incredible view of the Matterhorn from the hot tub and pool. The included breakfast featured an array of yogurt, fruits, muesli, local cheeses, pastries, on top of made to order dishes. Being a gluten-free/celiac family we were thrilled with the Omnia's efforts to not just accommodate us, but to make our experience just as luxurious and fulfilling. The Omnia is perched on a hillside (you take an elevator up several "floors") so that you are well above the street noises but only a 2 minute journey to the Bahnhofstrasse and its shops, restaurants etc. As a side note, I had made a snafu with our booking, and the Omnia very graciously went above and beyond and helped me remedy the mistake. 5 out of 5 stars.
Amazing modern design - in every detail, very good location directly above Bahnhofstrasse, very nice staff
Sauna: Both Saunas 80 degrees and 50 % humidity- an unhealthy combination- no cold plunge
We stayed at the Omnia based on TripAdvisor ratings, and enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful boutique hotel. Even though it is steps from the Zermatt shopping and restaurant areas, the thoughtful layout and elegant interior make the hotel feel like a mountain retreat. We started with a welcoming drink on a terrace overlooking the Matterhorn, and throughout the rest of our stay found the staff to be helpful and the rooms quiet. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a selection of fruits, cheeses, breads supplemented with the ability to order hot items from the menu. The room was a bit on the pricy side, but the amenities and services make it a worthwhile choice for Zermatt.
Our 3 days in Zermatt at The Omnia was one of the highlights of our Swiss vacation! Neither ourselves nor our teenagers wanted to leave! The care started even before we arrived, a personal email inquiry into our arrival, preferences, dinner reservations, and an offer to pick us up from the train station in their electric car. If you do anything please have dinner in the restaurant. It was one of our best meals on the trip.
On the day we arrived, we walked out of the train station to Nuno and his little vehicle that whisked us away to the hotel, into a mountain passage with an elevator that takes you to the main floor. Here we were greeted, taken to the outdoor patio, offered a beverage, adults had bubbly and the kids had hot chocolate with a mountain of marshmallows. With our bubbly came snacks etc. One of the most welcoming check ins we've ever experienced. We relaxed and finished our drinks, headed back to the entry where we were given a tour of the property and our room key. Waiting for us in the room were delicious muffins and apples! And to my spouses delight a decanter of bourbon for us to enjoy, all included. We enjoyed daily the most scrumptious breakfast....think eggs benny with smoked salmon or any omelet you can imagine. The croissants were the best we've ever eaten including in France. Chia puddings, freshly squeezed juices, bubbly...fresh fruit it was incredible. And included! From the moment we stepped onto the property which only has about 30 rooms, everyone knows who you are, you are not a room number you are their guest and treated so lovely. Every question or request was greeted with a desire to fulfill your wish. I have never experienced this level of care in a hotel in my life. And In a location that was directly in the town and could not be better.
The rooms are timeless, modern, yet warm, beautiful white oak and leather. Best linens and mattress for a wonderful nights rest and a most incredible balcony. We didn't have a view of the matterhorn but it literally didn't matter. Everything is gorgeous to see! We all enjoyed the pool and became quite obsessed with the four sauna experiences you can enjoy! I usually name the people who go above and beyond in a review, but at The Omnia the list would be too long. It's everyone! When we arrived home we received a personalized message from the Hotel Director, well done, the hotel is truly a Masterclass in how to treat your guest. Thank you for the best time...truth be told I spent the rest of our trip in Switzerland telling everyone who would listen how amazing you are!!
PS for anyone who has read this far, we have stayed in many hotels, palaces etc what The Omnia do well is they make you feel truly special, it's not pretension or snooty, it's warm and welcoming and so loving.
I had wanted to visit Zermatt for many, many years. I researched extensively into which hotel might best for our needs and wants and I was always drawn back the The Omnia. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We took the Glacier Express from St.Moritz to Zermatt and were picked up in the Omnia’s blue electric vehicle which transported us to the hotel. Arriving at the hotel itself is an experience in itself as it is reminiscent of a James Bond movie, secret tunnels and all. The hotel’s location in Zermatt is perfect. The hotel is also
so beautifully designed. Upon arrrival we were so very warmly greeted by Managing Director, Christian Eckert with a welcome drink. The warmth of the hotel was palpable. Our room/suite was exquisitely appointed with incredible attention to every detail, beautiful linens, very ample closest space, and wonderful treats. It also had the most amazing views of the Matterhorn. The best thing about the Omnia is the exemplary staff. They are all absolutely fabulous and obviously delight in connecting with and helping their guests. They were all down to a person warm, knowledgeable, professional and so accommodating. Lorena and Lars were just so gracious and helped us immensely with questions about things to do in Zermatt and helping us with our Swiss Travel Pass. Helena, Simon and Torben were so very helpful too.
The breakfasts were out of this world with buffet items and à la carte items to order. Annemarie was our server most days and she was just delightful as were Sandra, Cornelia and Sonja.
We also had an incredible dinner at the Omnia served with great aplomb by Cédric and other staff. The chef even came out to speak to us.
The housekeeping both day and evening service was impeccable as well. Rita and all the staff were all so competent and so very gracious.
I wish I could remember the names of everyone we interacted with. To a person they were all just wonderful. I cannot say enough about our amazing stay at The Omnia and I couldn’t recommend The Omnia more highly. The Omnia is every thing a hotel should be attentive, beautiful, inviting, professional, seamless, warm and so very welcoming. If you want to create memories to last a lifetime I encourage you to book a stay at the Omnia in Zermatt. We are just longing to go back.
What a distinctive hotel “you all are”.
OMNIA feels so luxurious and so homely at the same time. It is a proper experience of what a holiday should feel like.
A big congratulations for what you have all created there, it is a complete joy and I know hospitality is not an easy business to run.
A deep thank you from London and I hope to have the opportunity to visit you all in the near future.
This is a simple yet luxury hotel in the heart of Zermatt, but quietly away from the action as you walk through a cave and ride an elevator a few floors up to reach the lobby. You are just minutes away from the train station, gornergratbahn,, sunnegga funicular and many restaurants. They will pick you up directly from the train station in an adorable little car to help with luggGe. Welcome drinks and breakfast were included. Breakfast included ability to order À la carte main courses and include a great selection of fruits, yogurts and breads. Our room was comfortable elegance with a balcony overlooking Zermatt. We used the pool and hot tub which was a quiet sanctuary with views of the Matterhorn. The only downfall is there is no AC and we happened to be there in the heat of the summer.
Our stay at The Omnia exceeded every expectation. From the moment you arrive through the hotel’s unique entrance carved into the rock, you realize this is a very special place. The entire experience is thoughtfully designed and unlike any other hotel we’ve stayed at.
The welcome drink with the breathtaking view of the Matterhorn was a wonderful way to begin our stay. The complimentary snacks available throughout the day in the lounge were a thoughtful touch and greatly appreciated.
Our room was spacious, elegant, extremely comfortable, and impeccably maintained. The spa area is simply outstanding, peaceful, beautifully designed, and an experience not to be missed after a day exploring Zermatt.
Breakfast deserves special recognition. It is generous, with an excellent selection of fresh, high-quality products, including made-to-order dishes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.
Most importantly, the service was exceptional. Every member of the staff was genuinely warm, attentive, professional, and always eager to help. Unfortunately, the only name I remember is Lorene, who was wonderful, but every single staff member contributed to making our stay truly memorable.
The Omnia is a hotel that fully meets the expectations of guests seeking the highest standards of luxury, comfort, and hospitality. Every detail reflects excellence.
We would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zermatt. It was, without a doubt, one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.
Truly the most magical stop of our honeymoon! The staff at the Omnia were welcoming and incredibly helpful, scheduling restaurant recommendations and making sure our every need was met. The entrance through the cave made visiting town easy while also making the hotel feel like a secluded and peaceful hideaway (and it felt like something out of a James Bond movie!)
Everything about our stay at The OMNIA was great. It’s a beautiful place in a perfect setting with lovely, clean rooms, a stunning restaurant with excellent food—but the most impressive factor was the level of service. Every single staff member was genuinely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we were getting the most from our visit. We loved it!
This is a lovely place to stay with lovely service, accommodations, views, and amenities. We had a corner suite with (non-Matterhorn) mountain views. The suite was well-appointed, quiet, and quite large with 2 bathrooms and a very large living/dining area. The beds were heavenly. There were several other little extras like treats when we arrived, turndown service with chocolates, etc. The included breakfast buffet was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor hottub as well. The porter drove us to/from the train station, easily accommodating our delayed arrival (due to the French train strike). Note: the arrival tunnel is fun to go through!
Nothing!
Hotel maravilhoso! Tudo perfeito!
Nada podia ter sido melhor! Todos os pormenores são pensados ao detalhe. Maravilhoso.
