We didn’t stay because it wasn’t clean and looked like it had been used that day
Pros:

We didn’t even check in after seeing the room. False advertising had us book this room that looked like it was used for street walkers. We looked at the room and went back to the front desk and told the we will not be staying here. The room look as it has been used and not clean at all.

The lobby is honestly the only part of this hotel that gives the impression that you’re staying at a DoubleTree. Once we got to the room, it was a completely different experience.
The room was outdated and clearly in need of maintenance. The bathtub/shower area was dirty, the water did not get properly hot, the carpet had noticeable stains, and the bathroom furniture was chipped and worn. The overall condition of the room was nowhere near what I expected from the DoubleTree brand.
What made it even more concerning was that upon arrival, my husband and I shared an elevator with a housekeeper who was responding to another guest who had reportedly found mold on their bed. Hearing that before even getting settled into our own room definitely did not make us feel confident about the cleanliness of the hotel.
I’m extremely disappointed because I expected a much higher standard from DoubleTree. The lobby may look nice, but unfortunately that appearance does not carry over into the guest rooms. I would not recommend this property, and this will be our first and last stay here.

The View, Breafast, & Ruth Chris only eases one's disappointment of the condition it's in.
Pros:

The View is Spectacular. I cant speak highly enough regarding the view if you have riverfront room. The Breakfast Buffet was fantastic. The Staff were helpful, curtious, really just awesome. Ruth Chris Steakhouse, well it is a mic drop itself.

Cons:

My sole issue is that Doubletree is in such poor shape. DoubleTree Jacksonville is beyond past due for a renovation & have completly missed all openings even for a "Lip Stick on a Pig" fix. Another issue, I didnt like the hidden fees. I've stayed here before ( 10 years ago it was really nice so when I saw the nightly cost, it suckered me in. I'm sure I missed it but truthfully feels like I was bamboozeled b/c I missed $50 for parking, $20 for breakfast even after checking the box for adding it. It was good however on my last day I discovered that Southern Grille is only a 3 min walk ) and that place is incredible for breakfast. No need to go anywhere else !!
