I stayed at the Meliá Sevilla in May for 2 nights with 2 friends. We had 3 single rooms.
One of the biggest positives was the excellent organisation on arrival. We arrived around 12pm & were really pleased to find that all 3 of our rooms were already ready & we were checked in & given our rooms early. Also the 3 rooms were directly next to one another, which was perfect for us
The breakfast was good with a great selection. I am gluten free & I was particularly impressed with the dedicated gluten free area. It was positioned behind the egg station, slightly away from the main breakfast area, which meant it was less accessible to people simply browsing & therefore felt more protected from accidental contamination. There was a very good selection of gluten free muffins & biscuits.
My room was very nice, spacious & comfortable & I was happy with it overall. The only issue I had was that the toilet wasn’t flushing particularly well. I reported this to reception & someone came in & attempted to repair it while I was out. To be honest, I don’t think it was completely resolved, but as I was only staying for two nights & was out most of the time, it wasn’t a major issue for me.
The location is good with plenty of taxis readily available & the hotel only a short walk from the palace. It’s a convenient base for exploring Seville.
Bom pequeno almoço e muito perto da praça de espanha. Muito boas instalações
Elevadores não estavam todos a funcionar e houve algumas falhas de luz durante a estadia

Too few staff at pool bar / restaurant creating lengthy waits

Great location, loved the size of the pool and the quality of the food in the pool bar. Spacious entrance to the hotel, great to have four lifts so there weren’t huge queues to get onto each floor.
Not enough sun-beds during peak time. Really difficult to get a space around the pool for the towels left reserving beds whilst people went off exploring. Queues at the pool bar were on average 15 minutes a time to get served for drinks.
Lovely modern lobby and rooms. Exceptional views over Plaza de Espana. The staff in general were very friendly and polite.
The pool gets very busy, understandable because of the limited outside space however the hotel have done there best to maximise the number of beds and we managed to get at least one bed each day.

★☆☆☆☆ 1-star review
Our stay at Meliá Sevilla was extremely disappointing from beginning to end.
We booked two Premium rooms and one Twin room. At check-in, we specifically asked to have all three rooms on the same floor. Reception told us that in order to do this, we needed to upgrade the Twin room to a Premium room. We paid an additional €100, only to later be sent to The Level/VIP section and informed that all three rooms would still be on different floors. It felt completely misleading and, frankly, like we were scammed into paying for an upgrade that did not accomplish what we were told it would.
The front desk experience was equally frustrating. The staff member we dealt with was combative and aggressive rather than helpful. I repeatedly asked her to speak in English because I do not speak Spanish, yet communication remained unnecessarily difficult. This was supposedly the hotel’s VIP section, but there was nothing remotely VIP about the service.
The situation got worse overnight. The electricity went out for approximately 12 hours, leaving us without air conditioning and causing a miserable night. One member of our group relies on a CPAP machine to sleep, which could not be used during the outage. The following night, the electricity went out again, thankfully for a shorter period, but still unacceptable.
At checkout, we requested assistance bringing our luggage down. We waited an entire hour for our bags.
Overall, the service was poor, the staff was not welcoming, communication was frustrating, and the €100 upgrade felt deceptive. Between the power outages, lack of AC, inability to use necessary medical equipment, and incredibly slow service, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had.
Meliá Sevilla seriously needs to improve its customer service and how it handles guests paying for premium and VIP-level accommodations. We would not stay here again.
