Will never stay here again!!
Pros:

Checked in for the weekend and quickly regretted it! Won't ever come back!

1. ROACHES scattered in the bathroom. We had to switch rooms. Saw like one roach in the new room.

2. ROOM was NOT CLEANED after we left and came back. We didn't get any new towels. Bed was not made.

3.They CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING. Charged for daily parking, daily breakfast, we had to go to the desk for more towels and give up the old ones we used. If we didn't we'd be charged. She openly pointed to a lip gloss spot and asked if it was BLOOD and that she'd have to charge for that. Said there's a 50 dollar upfront deposit being charged and that i'd get it back later.

4. First room smelled wet, warm, and moist. Room was very HUMID upon entry. Took hrs to cool down.

5. Hotel was very OUT OF DATE and RAN DOWN. The body wash pumps in the bathroom were broken and wasnt able to be used. Toilet was cracked. Very static-y cable, Wet humid mildewy smell in rooms + roaches. Elevator felt like it was going to break any second.

6. The girl that checked me in was inhospitable and Impassive.

It was a little scary . People in the parking asking for a car jump. Others are doing drugs.
Pros:

The location was a little ok. Everything was near but it was also so ghetto. I didn't get breakfast. There was a fee. All hotel do not charge for breakfast or parking.

Cons:

I didn't like the customer service. The floors were dirty elevator felt like it was going to breakdown. All locations I have stayed did not charge for breakfast or the parking.

Avoid Sonesta Select Austin North (7522 N Interstate Hwy 35).
Pros:

This is not three-star hospitality. It is a poorly maintained, nickel-and-dime operation that prioritizes protecting its star rating over fixing real problems or treating guests with basic respect.
I stayed twice. The first visit was already mediocre. The second was worse. Breakfast is charged separately ($3 continental / $6 hot). I was there on what management later called “bacon day.” The bacon was ordinary thin-cut, not the “thick-cut cooked in-house” they brag about, and it was not cooked properly. Scrambled eggs, sausage, pre-made biscuits, gravy, oatmeal packets, fruit, and the pancake machine were all low-quality bulk product. Nothing was held at proper temperature. No real butter. The “juice” tasted like nothing recognizable. Maple syrup was the cheap imitation kind. For $6 this is not higher-quality select-service food—it is the cheapest option they can get away with serving.
Parking was free on my first stay. On the return visit they suddenly required a QR-code registration. Front desk said $5. The actual charge was $5 + $0.95 convenience fee + tax = $6.44. Hidden fees after the fact are the opposite of hospitality.
The rooms themselves show the real standard. Photos attached document:
Dark stains and debris on bedding/fabric consistent with poor cleaning or insect activity
Leftover shampoo packets and trash from previous guests still in the shower caddy (I bring my own supplies and never touched theirs)
Stained sofa cushion, scratched and marked leather ottoman
Cheap, thin toilet paper
Severely degraded TV picture quality (grainy, soft, unwatchable—I used my phone instead)
Wall damage, scuffed and dirty door surfaces, peeling/worn wallpaper, tangled power cords on the floor, restricted PTAC temperature controls that prevent proper cooling
These are not isolated cosmetic issues. They are the visible result of deferred maintenance and low service standards.
When I posted an honest review, management responded with a long defensive statement that tried to discredit the feedback instead of addressing it. They claimed the breakfast is superior because they use “real eggs” and “bake biscuits on-site,” ignored that the bacon on “bacon day” was ordinary and poorly prepared, and insisted the food was higher quality than other select-service hotels. They listed other properties that also charge for breakfast and parking as if that excuses the experience here. They blamed me for not reporting every maintenance issue to the front desk in real time, claimed at checkout I only mentioned the fees and threatened reviews, and lectured that limited PTAC ranges and paid amenities are now industry norms. That response is not accountability. It is an attempt to bully a guest into silence and protect the star rating.
A property that leaves previous guests’ trash in the shower, serves lukewarm bulk breakfast while calling it elevated, springs a $6.44 parking fee after the fact, and then argues with documented criticism is not interested in creating a better experience. It is interested in managing perception.
I will not return to this hotel or any other Sonesta Select. Future guests should look at the photos, read the management reply for themselves, and decide whether this is the standard they want to pay for.

A terrible experience
Pros:

The person in the kitchen excellent, very friendly and helped us with everything.

Cons:

Everything is extra charged by the very bad breakfast, the TV did not work, in the app it said that breakfast was included and that we had a coffee maker in the room and it was not like that, the elevator sounded very hard as if it were going to be damaged and the floor of the reception and the rooms dirty, the towels that leave are very few only two and also leave only one super small soap, the whole hotel did not have enough things in very bad condition, in the ice maker it had a rotten smell and it was full of rubbish. We stayed at Sonesta San Antonio and it was excellent and that's why we decided to look for him in Dallas but the experience was really terrible.
