Perfect for an overnight stay in Manchester.
Pros:

Lovely old fashioned hotel with history and decor to match. Brilliant location for Manchester city centre. Friendly and professional staff. The young lady at check was great ( stupidly I have forgotten her name).

The room was great. We chose the without windows option and are perfect for those who love a dark room to sleep and don't care for a view.

Early check-in was available for 10 pounds, which was reasonable as we could get set up and have a nap before we needed to go out.

Clean and tidy. Nice spacious bathroom and lovely bath.

Cons:

One bit of caution for light sleepers, The walls are paper thin and not sound insulated, so noise from other rooms and doors opening and closing etc was noticeable. Let's face it's not a new hotel so that has to be expected.

Pros:

location and value for money

Cons:

very bad sound insulation the man above me stomped around the room on very squeaky floorboards every 15 mins until his wife came home at 0500 then they had a very loud row for the next hour and the people in the next room started having sex at 2330 and finished at 0530 (he moaned almost as loud as she did .. however the folowing night it was quite quiet ..

Great location...you pay for what you get
Pros:

This hotel doesnt have best reputation but it is in a great location. Good price..you pay for what you get. The room had a bath.
Never had any major problems and i have stayed here many times.

Cons:

The thursday was nice and quiet but It was a little noisey on the friday night from room next door and I had to get up early. But it was a friday night and people were going out.
The lighting isn't very good. Way too dark.
I couldn't book breakfast as it didn't open early enough.

Fine for a short trip, but will book elsewhere in future.
Pros:

Location is right in the centre, easy to get to from the station and a good base. The building itself is beautiful, and the staircase is lovely to look at.

Cons:

The room is very outdated, there was one tiny window and not enough lights to compensate for the lack of natural light. Breakfast was very sub par, the eggs were like a soup and there was no granola style options just yoghurt or full English style hot food.

It could be better that I have expected.
Pros:

Nothing special : beautiful stairs.

Cons:

The neighbors were waking me up at 4 in the morning. After transmitted the complaint twice to the receptionists. They have been doing that expressive.

That causes me sleepless moments. That annoyed and disturbed my stay.
