My stay at Sofitel Legend was truly memorable. The property itself is breathtaking — rich with history, beautifully restored, and impressive in every way. But what truly elevated my experience was the staff.
The butler team — Rudy, Jeremy, and Alejandro — were warm, attentive, and consistently hospitable. The concierge team was also helpful, and one gentleman in particular (whose name I unfortunately didn’t get) stood out for his constant courtesy and thoughtful guidance every time I approached him.
I want to give special recognition to Martha, who was welcoming and kind during my very first breakfast at the resort. Her warmth set the tone for the rest of my stay. And most importantly, Luis Carlos was exceptionally kind and thoughtful — the kind of service professional who becomes the standard by which all others are measured. His genuine care left a lasting impression.
The doormen were exceptional as well, always ready to guide me whenever I had questions about navigating the area. Their professionalism and friendliness added an extra layer of comfort to my stay.
However, my experience at the spa did not match the high level of service I received elsewhere in the hotel. I booked a leg massage, and although the masseuse was kind, she asked me to fully disrobe and then only massaged the backs of my legs. I’m not sure if it was a language barrier or a misunderstanding, but the service felt incomplete and uncomfortable. Because of that, I chose to cancel the birthday massage I had scheduled for the next day. I regularly get massages, and I didn’t want to risk starting my birthday with disappointment.
Despite the spa experience, the majority of my stay was filled with exceptional hospitality and genuine warmth. Sofitel Legend is a stunning property with a remarkable team, and many of the staff members made my time there truly unforgettable.

John was very nice and provided EXCELLENT service. The food is fresh and the drinks strong.
Great service, incredible experience from the moment we arrived. From the doorman to Luis from the restaurant and David, the bar manager at Coro Lounge Bar. He even brought a dessert with a candle and surprised me to celebrate my birthday. I was highly impressed. ❤️

Not only is the Sofitel Legend in Cartagena a beautiful, ideally located hotel with such attentive staff all around but also the butler team is absolutely amazing. They worked with me in advance to finalize my itinerary and made my big birthday so special. Based on my experience, I now I’m looking for a Sofitel for my trips to Italy and France.
I highly recommend taking a day trip to the Sofitel Baru, scheduling a trip to Palenque via the hotel with a guide who lives in Palenque, and eating at 1621. I wish I had time and room in my belly to check out the downstairs bar. The outdoor bar has a great view!
The pool is so relaxing and has umbrellas for every two chairs!! So necessary.
Best hotel by far in Cartagena Colombia. 5th time here and after terrible experience in OSH we ended up here wishing we would have stayed here all nights. Super professional, luxury hotel from the start to the end . All staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. I would definitely go here again . Thank you
