Location to the train station.
They CHARGED me to get in my room early. Never in all my travels have I been charged when the room is ready prior to check in time. Also, room size. The only walkway in the room was the width of a suitcase - very tiny.

The location is great and if you are staying on the floors that have been renovated, the rooms are very nice.
The floors that have not been renovated are in need of work--the water pressure is good, but everything else is pretty warn down and the A/C, though available, does not work well at all on the top floor.
The location, staff and facilities were perfect. All staff were very polite, accommodating and helpful. Staff experience was absolutely outstanding and will definitely be back! Area was quiet at night and safe for a solo traveller. Room was clean and facilities were perfect. Identical as advertised. The staff even helped my sister plan a welcome gift for my arrival.

Great location and was clean.
Our air conditioning did not work. They came up and said it was because they heard the motor, however there never was any airflow. Our room got very hot and stuffy. I picked this hotel because it said it had AC. To be fair, they were having a heat wave.

My daughter and I stayed in early June and really enjoyed it. The hotel is clean and well looked after, the rooms were clean too, and the staff were great, friendly, helpful, and always happy to sort out whatever we needed.
The location is excellent. The hotel is right by Dam Square, the central square, and you can walk to every attraction from there. There's really no point taking a taxi or renting a bike, everything is within walking distance.
The hotel has a very popular restaurant, Bouillon d'Amsterdam, but be prepared to either wait in a fairly long queue or book well ahead. It's not a big deal though, because there are loads of good restaurants right nearby. Corner House Amsterdam is worth a look, they do very good Dutch food.
We were on the 6th floor with a view over the surrounding area and a church. The room was well soundproofed, so after a full day of sightseeing we always rested well. The staff were really helpful throughout.
Recommended, we'd happily go back.

Nothing that we didn't need
Stayed at Die Port van Cleve for several days during a business trip and was very pleased with the experience.
The hotel's biggest advantage is its outstanding location. Situated right in the heart of Amsterdam, it allowed me to reach almost every destination I needed on foot, including the city center, restaurants, museums, and public transportation. Despite the central location, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, and I was not disturbed by street noise.
The staff were excellent throughout my stay. The concierge team deserves special mention for being friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful with recommendations and practical assistance.
The rooms were clean, well maintained, and comfortably sized by European city-center standards. I also appreciated the in-room coffee machine and complimentary coffee capsules.
One point worth noting is that breakfast is not included and comes at an additional cost. Given the abundance of excellent cafés and bakeries within a short walking distance, I would personally skip the hotel breakfast and explore the local options instead.
Overall, an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel in central Amsterdam with professional service and easy access to the city's main attractions.
