Great location, good value!
Pros:

The continental breakfast was great - yogurt, juices, fruit, muffins, and instant oatmeal along with coffee or tea was great. I appreciated the location of the hotel since it was within walking distance of many places we wanted to see like the museum and the waterfront.

Cons:

The rooms were not entirely soundproof. When a neighbouring room ran their shower, it was very loud in our room, and we could clearly hear voices from the hall and other rooms. The beds were not very soft, which is what I prefer in a bed, but it was good enough for a three night stay. Any longer than that and it might've been too much. We liked to sleep with the sliding glass door open for some fresh air, but unfortunately, the road outside was quite busy and noisy at all times.

Outstanding service, in an old hotel but with a very comfortable and clean room.
Pros:

The 2 young receptionists were absolutely outstanding. So welcoming, so helpful, they were brilliant. The beds were really comfortable, the rooms were very clean. Rooms were very well equipped and the shower was great.

Cons:

This is a really old, run down hotel, there had been a leak maybe as our room smelt damp. However, the price reflected this. We knew what we were getting.

Clean and affordable lodgings in Nanaimo.
Pros:

Clean and comfortable room. Nice to have a mini-fridge with a small freezer for cooler food and ice. Evening staff was great! Two staff members (evening front desk and morning cleaner) were very accommodating and friendly.

Cons:

The carpet and hallway interior design felt old and dated. Front desk morning clerk chastised me for using the emergency exit when two other staff had told me I could (because I had a cooler, my car was parked right outside, and my room was next to the exit).

Dit is geen hotel maar een poppenkast
Pros:

Het televisietoestel met een ruim aanbod aan zenders. Meer kan ik er niet over vertellen. Alle ramen hadden een spiegelfolie behalve dat van ons. Iedereen keek bij ons binnen, geen privacy dus.

Cons:

De foto's op Booking.com stemden niet overeen met de werkelijkheid. Het is een aftands, afgeleefd, niet onderhouden hotel dat vooral gebruikt wordt door gasten die op doorreis zijn. Omdat foto's en prijs je overhalen om deze nacht hier door te brengen is de keuze vlug gemaakt maar het is de naam Hotel niet waardig. Dit is een Tourist Trap. Yoghurt, muffins uit een doos en bananen uit de diepvries. Echt? ja, echt.
