I spent two nights at this hotel and had a very pleasant stay overall. Although I booked through Chase Edit and didn't receive early check-in or an upgrade, the welcome amenity—two cans of water, a jar of parmesan truffle popcorn--breakfast vouchers, and a $100 property credit all came through as promised.
My third-floor room was clean and cozy, but somewhat affected by street noise. The workspace allowed me to work comfortably on my second day, and the bed featured a firm mattress with ample bedding. My absolute favorite part, however, was the robes! I wore mine constantly and was sad to find out they aren't available for purchase.
The bathroom was mostly functional, though the sink fixture was awkward to use and counter space was limited. I also found the shower fixture a bit outdated and the bathtub quite slippery. On a positive note, dinner at the bar was good, as was breakfast at Il Solito.
I arrived in Portland by train, and the hotel was a very easy walk down Broadway from Union Station. All in all, this was a comfortable stay, and I would consider staying here again next time I'm in Portland.
I was extremely nervous about the whole parking situation and where my car would be but Jack C. Gave me peace of mind letting me know no one has access to the garage, and if I need to get something that they can pull the car around for me. And he parked my car right away instead of letting it sit in the street like the hotel next to vintage.
The skyline view was great, and the location was super. Text communications from staff were helpful.
Upon arrival, there was no valet. We had to get a luggage cart ourselves, and load it up. Then, we had to manuever through the door to the check in desk. Although multiple people were behind the desk, no one offered to help with the luggage. We then had to wheel the luggage cart ourselves (it was so awkward) to the elevator and the room. In addition, the room was a bit worn (a wooden shelf was falling off the wall, some of the walls were patched, and the bathroom had one small light around the mirror so the shower was too dark!). Also, we asked two staff for dinner recommendations and they did not really have anything to share...
Great one night stay! From beginning to end, stellar experience! Misaki was great at check in...very helpful, informative, and pleasant. Ben was quick and friendly at checkout. We look forward to coming back.
We had a great weekend stay. We booked through Chase’s Edit program and enjoyed the included perks. The hotel was at full capacity so they reasonably couldn’t do a room upgrade. But the Edit property credit was useful for a dinner at the bar and the breakfast was great. They put a snack and mini wine bottle in the room for the Edit “welcome amenity.”
I didn’t hear much noise from other guests. The street noise could be a bit much at night. I was on the 3rd floor so maybe it’s better higher but I kind of doubt it. Downtown is just pretty noisy with motorcycles, sirens, and something that sounded like dumpsters being repeatedly dropped for 30 minutes at 5am.
The bed was comfortable enough. The mattress felt a bit futon-like. Water pressure was great. The property was in better condition than I expected based on some reviews. It didn’t feel shabby or dirty or anything like that. The wines during the included 5-6 happy hour were good quality. All the staff were nice.
I’d be happy to return!
This is such a nice friendly place to stay, eat and drink. The service was amazing. Bradley and Jono were like the dynamic duo they took such good care of us and made us feel right at home.
My new favorite hotel in downtown Portland. The hotel's daily reception had surprisingly good local wine. Many hotels offer two buck chuck in plastic cups but not Hotel Vintage. The Food at the bar was really good as was the service from RJ. Cody at the front desk answered all our questions and was very attentive. Looking forward to my next stay at Hotel Vintage.
Jono and Bradley provided excellent service and conversation at the Bacchus Bar.
Sliped and fell in jacuzzi tub room floor had water on it from getting out of tub. Poorly designed slick floor was like ice. Hurt my seif badly and was sent up rubber mat and two band aids for a fractured femur and all toes on right foot turned purple. Probsbly should have called my attourney and gone to an ER but was on expensive vacation and could still walk with discomfort.
The staff at this hotel were great, helping us check in with ease and going above and beyond to resolve an issue we had with our booking. The hotel is well located and is generally very modern. The only things stopping it from getting a perfect score for us were that the bathroom in our room was fairly dated. Also while resort fees now seem like a necessary evil when travelling around the states, the resort fee here did seem to be on the higher side - appreciate you get $10 credit a day for food but that just felt like a cynical effort to force people to eat at their restaurant.
To start...what a great staff they have. Cody was especially welcoming and helped us setup our room and explained our benefits available.
Location was great and walking distance to most everything we needed to go to in downtown. If it was further, the lobby had two retro bikes to use. You would think a vintage hotel may not be kid friendly however we were throughly suprised with the 2nd floor game room that offered modern amenities likw Nintendo switch usage! Kids definetly winded down there.
The resurtant for breakfast was also great. Very accommodating when we can book ahead the night before to ensure we get a spot during the morning rush. Food was excellent!
All in all I would highly recommend this place and would come back to visit again!
centrally located!! good customer service!
My company booked this hotel for our department to stay in while we had our first workshop, and I was pleasantly surprised. I don't travel very often so I don't have a lot of expectation in hotels except for the mattress. If the mattress is too firm/lumpy/pokey, and I wake up with a sore back, it sours the whole trip. I was very happy to find that this Kimpton had a lovely just-squishy-enough mattress that my back and I appreciated. I will definitely keep the Kimpton hotels in mind for future travel.
I did want to mention that the shower felt a wee bit slippery, (from water softener, maybe?) so having some anti slip stickers in the tub would have felt more secure. This was mentioned by others in my group, as well, so maybe get some of those ducky stickers from the 90's! Supposedly 90's are considered "vintage" now, so it'd follow the hotel brand 😋
Special shout-out to Cody at the front desk, she was so welcoming and friendly to me and my bff(/coworker). She put us in some really lovely rooms with awesome views! Thanks Cody, you rock!!
Location was perfect, it was by everything we wanted to see!!
The front desk lady, Mitsuki I believe was her name, truly so kind and welcome she made the process of checking in awesome!!
The atmosphere was great and our room was also really great! Room service always did so well with the rooms and making sure it was clean!
The decorations and the stairs were my favorite I got some awesome pictures here!
The bar was also a really great time for us! Jono and Bradley were very attentive and kind! Drinks were also great!
Great drinks and conversation drinks were 10 out of 10!
Jono and Bradley made my experience at the hotel very enjoyable
Jono & Bradley were great & attentive. The drinks were 10/10 each time!
Hotel Vintage has a very welcoming and calming atmosphere, clean spacious rooms, and lots of amenities.
All of the staff we encountered were exceptional. I want to shout out Cody at the front desk, you took such good care of us, thank you! I also want to thank RJ at the bar and Porfirio at the restaurant.
