It was great for our needs, however we would choose a different location on our next visit.
Pros:

The location was perfect for our needs.

Cons:

It did not adequately show the rooms and that the room we booked was two-story. We are an older couple and that would’ve been good to know so we did have to change rooms. Also the young man who worked the afternoon shift into the evening was not at all pleasant. However, the young woman working in the morning shift was very pleasant.

Disappointing in many ways
Pros:

Good location inland, but only a short drive away from the beach. A shopping mall with restaurants was within easy walking distance. Parking was free. Breakfast was included and was adequate. The room was large and spacious with a big, comfortable bed.

Cons:

At all the other 12 hotels we stayed in during our US holiday, we were pleasantly surprised at how helpful and jovial all the staff we encountered were. Not so here. We arrived about 90 minutes before official check in time to be told our room was not ready and to come back in an hour or so. No attempt to give helpful suggestions on what we could do locally to pass the time. The receptionist just went back to doing what she was doing prior to our arrival. When we returned, a different person had taken over and was serving another customer who also seemed irritated about having to go and fetch something. We were told to wait while she was being served. When we were given our room keys, everything was explained in a clear and concise manner.

A lot of care and attention had been given to making pretty shapes out of towels and loo paper, but not so much to clearing away cobwebs up in the corners of the ceilings.

A security light going on and off constantly, on an adjacent property kept my partner awake for much of the night. Whether there is anything that could be done about this, I couldn't say.

We had a problem with small drain flies in the bathroom area which appeared to be coming from the sink plughole and overflow. My partner also disposed of a silverfish insect in the same area.

The WiFi was very patchy and cellular signal was also poor. When I went down to reception to ask if there were any other WiFi networks I could join, (I could see others which appeared to be hotel related), I was dismissively told that there weren't. She said the router was in the corridor next to our room, so we should have a great signal (we didn't). She actually answered the telephone before I'd properly finished talking to her.

We only stayed one night.

Gutes Hotel für die Durchreise und kurzen Aufenthalt in Monterey
Pros:

Sehr gute Lage, nah am Zentrum aber auch an der Autobahn um in Richtung San Francisco oder LA zu starten. Zwar an einer Hauptstraße aber dennoch sehr ruhig im Zimmer.
Als Gast hat man Zugang zum nahegelegenen Gold‘s Gym, was top ist.
Zimmer relativ geräumig mit Couch, bequemes Bett.
Garage unter dem Gebäude

Cons:

Sehr kleiner Frühstücksraum mit überschaubarer Auswahl, was aber wohl lokalem Standard entspricht. Leider auch hier kein gesunder Start in den Tag
