Location good, very close to the cathedral. Car parking (£10 charge).
The double room was really small, with a small double bed. We can't remember ever having such a small double room. When we checked out the hotel confirmed that the double rooms varied considerably in size; the hotel was not full so we find it extraordinary that we were allocated the smallest. The bathroom window had been repaired with black tape.
Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Small bar area for such a large hotel. Bar closes at 10:30 pm.
The hotel was a traditional old building with wonky floors and low beams. It was decorated to a modern style and the fixture and fittings in our room were modern but in keeping with the style. It was clean, tidy and welcoming and having a car park was a bonus .
There was nothing that we didn’t like.
Hotel is well situated to explore the city. We had an executive room which was a good size but remember that this is a very old building so lots of stairs! Breakfast was good.
The restaurant felt like it needed a good clean. Again it is an old building but there were some obvious areas that looked grubby with thick dust on ledges and exposed pipes. Plastic flowers and greenery need to be refreshed from time to time.
Interesting place with much history. Located centrally very close to the cathedral. Generally very peaceful despite the central location.Cou
I couldn't distinguish which was shampoo and which shower gel, but a great shower otherwise. There are frequent changes in levels because of the number of buildings that have been joined together over the centuries so, the room I was in would not have worked for a disabled person.
Location
Cold room and difficult controls
Location. Free Bentley tour of town. Size of room.
Room smelt of smoke from previous guest. Staff had tried to cover smell and left window open to air room. Room was located very far from reception, ok for us but not suitable for elderly guests.
Location is great. Staff was very friendly
Outdated rooms. Dirty carpets. Old windows that don't close. Odd smell in the room , like a rotten tomato smell.
Not worth the money we paid.
Excellent breakfast options
A waterpipe which was boxed in through my room from the room above was noisy - particularly when the guest above decided to have a bath at 3am!
Breakfast was a bit chaotic as the self service area did not allow for an orderly flow. The toast maker was in an awkward place and the whole area was too small for the number of guests and staff.
All the steps to the reception and the lift. It was not an accessible building.
