Convenient location
Nothing
The hotel in general is very good the food is excellent and well presented, staff are very polite and helpful.
I booked a room in the main house but was given a room in an annexe at the back. Although staff apologised and I received a partial refund it somewat ruined what should have bee a perfect weekend. As I had stayed there about 4 weeks prior I returned expecting the same as my first visit but the room fell way below par and not up to expectations.
Location was great
The food at breakfast for such a lovely hotel was very poor, scrambled eggs beans and mushrooms all cold dispute being under hot plates, tried telling staff and fell on deaf ears.
Impressive to look at
Lacking attention to detail. Bathroom floor had paint splatter on it and masking tape residue. Skirting board was visibly dusty. Shower screen waterproofing strip was stained and dislodged. No air con so room was stuffy. Sat on terrace for evening drink but furniture did not fit the setting and needed cushions for comfort.
Cleanliness, facilities, staff, view, bath as asked for.
The loud music until after midnight.
The cost was double what I paid the last time I stayed
High standard. Very clean. Very helpful staff
We were given a room in Hepburn which involved a long walk and lots of stairs which we did not realise. I have had a hip operation and not walking too well. A very nice lady called Michelle noticed me struggling and said she would get us a nearer room which was very kind of her. It was a smaller room but very nice. Very comfy bed.
No air conditioning in the room although a fan provided ( which we fixed as it was rattling). No remote for the T2 but we got one from reception. This didn’t work at all but after another trip to reception we were given one that did work.
The grounds are beautiful.
The air con didn’t stay on during the night so had to keep switching back on, appreciate that in the UK we wouldn’t normally need air con. I blame the heat wave.
A nice mansion in the countryside with a big garden
It was very hot, no AC, also not even water bottles in the room. I got so thirsty at night and asked for water, had to go downstairs to get them myself. Water bottles should be standard in the room. There was a wedding, since it was so hot, had to open the window, and music went on till almost 1am.
Nice hotel and area
It was so ridiculously hot I couldn't sleep at all. Granted it's a listed building so they can't put huge aircon units into the room but the pathetic minature fans that are provided are a joke. You're paying a room premium so expect some sort of expenditure from the hotel to make it comfortable for you as an end user. Will pay £60 less and stay at a travellodge or something next time just so I can actually sleep
Staff on reception were so helpful and really went out of their way to accommodate. Venue is absolutely stunning with beautifully scenery, great breakfast and well designed rooms
It was unfortunate but it was so hot and the rooms didn’t come with air con which made our stay a little uncomfortable.
This is our 3rd visit...it is a beautiful building and has lovely grounds and a great terrace area.
The window doesn't open more than a couple of inches...there was a desk fan which wasn't very good....for this type of hotel and the known heatwave we think they could have prepared more for the extreme heat...the bedroom was unbearably hot.
