Liam was a top waiter couldn’t do enough for us, great bloke and fantastic service
Reception staff friendly and helpfull
Dispite getting the wrong room and the computers being down staff did their best to work with what they had.
Staff work hard and with a smile 😁
Wrong room but mistakes can be made sometimes it is not the staffs fault I love this hotel use it all the time I am going abroad 😁
Handiness of location between car parking and airport terminal
Staff needed to be more attentive in restaurant
Excellent place to stay. Great airport transfers.
Nothing
Very handy for airport and trains shuttle bus was great 👍
We had to get another room the first one, one of the beds were soaking wet
Location near Manchester airport and hotel offer free shuttle to which terminal you need
The lady at reception was great! Lovely and the bar staff where also great. Id say the staff are amazing all round.
Some finishing, but its more of a budget hotel so for the convenience and things that matter they did well. Not like I paid top of the range and everything should have no signs of use etc. Its just old could use renovation but last minute at a likely busy time maybe an over flow room or something and if it was it was a great one.
Breakfast and staff
Bar opening hours should be open a bit later for latecomers.
Handy location for the airport but not a great walk if you didn’t want to wait for the bus.
Hotel was quite poor, dated interior and over busy bar and restaurant meaning nowhere to sit and not able to get food.
Liam in the bar restaurant was absolutely brilliant, made my family so welcome and was so good at looking after all 10 of us. Recommend eating in here as food was great and Liam looking after us was 10/10
Fantastic service from Liam in the bar. Much appreciated
We booked a room with Drop & Go parking and needed to update our car registration after buying a new car. The hotel’s system wouldn’t let us change it online, so we phoned ahead and were told twice that “it’ll be fine.” After a long drive, we arrived to find the car park had no booking for us.
When we went back to the hotel, we were told it was “our fault” for not updating the registration — even though we had tried and were reassured everything was okay. After an hour of waiting, the manager said it was sorted, but when we returned to the car park, nothing had been updated. The Drop & Go staff were great and explained this “happens a lot when people book parking through the hotel.”
When we came back from holiday, tired after an 8‑hour flight, we were told we owed £65 for an extra day and couldn’t get our keys. Only when we showed our booking (clearly covering 16 days) was it resolved — again with the comment that this issue happens frequently with hotel‑booked parking.
The problem itself was simple, but the mixed messages, the blame placed on us, and the amount of back‑and‑forth made the whole experience far more stressful than it needed to be.
We stayed at the Clayton before a flight from Manchester airport. The shuttle service is great, the shuttle drivers were helpful and the journey is only around 10mins!
Having arrived a little before check in time, we were advised to go and have a drink in the bar and wait for our room to be ready. Staff on reception were hit & miss- some friendly whilst others were clearly nearing the end of their shift!
The bar itself is nice, staff are friendly and happy to help with bags etc which was greatly appreciated!
We booked a family room, to allow us to have some extra space. We were disappointed with the room itself- it was tired, dated and in need of some TLC. Our biggest disappointment was no air conditioning, we really struggled in the hot weather with two young children.
Cleanliness wasn’t great, I moved one of the twin beds to find an abundance of dust/crumbs underneath, and the bathroom had hairs all over from the previous occupants… not what you’d expect from a Clayton hotel!
Would we stay again? No. The premier inn we stayed in our on return was considerably cheaper and the rooms were nicer!
Great offer on room and parking but hotel room felt dated and not at all delux double .Food was good in bar area .
Nothing fundamentally wrong but compared to next doors Crowne Plaza rooms it just left us flat !
