We are hoping our review helps them fix their conditions, but we will not be staying in any of their facilities ever aga
Pros:

The property is in great walking distance to downtown Annapolis

Cons:

The room was filthy, there was dust around the walls of the carpeting, the room smelled of a musty odor and dampness. The bathroom was so poorly lit that the spouse had to use a flashlight to apply her makeup. The television did not work either

We absolutely love Annapolis and staying at Governor Calvert House (2nd time) is very convenient.
Pros:

The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. It was also very quiet and looked out over the courtyard.

Cons:

The room itself was great. We were disappointed by the complimentary coffee in the lobby. At 7:00 am the coffee tasted horrible, it was already look warm, there was hardly any creamer and the tiny little trash can there was over-flowing.

Charming retreat
Pros:

The History of this place is amazing. How many people get to stay in the same inn George Washington went?.The location could not be beat if you want to stay in Annapolis. This property has three locations, I stayed at the Maryland Inn.

Nice, but overpriced. Watch out for the bogus $30/day "historic preservation fee."
Cons:

After booking, I go t an email from Historic Inns of Annapolis, indicating that they would be adding on a $30/day "Historic Preservation Fee." This wasn't a tax or regulatory fee, just something they charge. This was clearly nothing more than an attempt to raise the daily rate $30 beyond the listed rate.

When I called them about it, I reached a call center somewhere. The person read me a script but could not answer my basic question of whether they would be expecting more from me than what I had paid through Booking.com.

So, I had to call the front desk. They looked into it and told me I would not be charged.

This process added a half hour, and a lot of aggravation, to the otherwise smooth booking process.

FYI - The FTC now says that it is illegal for lodging facilities to add charges for basic lodging beyond what is listed at your time of payment. Hopefully, that will put an end to "resort fees" and other fraudulent charges.

I would have thought a place like this was above that.
