Ideal hotel for the night before a morning flight

Convenient for airport but that’s it
Cons:

I could not use the shower as it was over a bath. I am disabled with mobility problems which was clearly visible to the receptionist

Staff let down our stay

Clean, smelled great and breakfast was lovely.

I am extremely disappointed with the service we received during our stay.

I checked in at 8am, dropped off our bags and left the hotel until 7pm. I paid for our room in full, as well as breakfast, when I arrived that morning.

However, when I returned at 7pm, I was told that I hadn’t paid and that I would not be given my room key. I showed the member of staff the payment confirmation on my phone, but this wasn’t accepted. He insisted on seeing a receipt, which I did not have.

This went on for around 20 minutes before we were eventually given our key. What made the situation even worse was that there was not a single apology.

I found the whole experience extremely upsetting and completely unnecessary. I had paid in full and was able to show proof of payment, yet I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong. I would expect a much higher standard of customer service, with staff showing understanding and professionalism when dealing with guests. Being left to deal with this situation for 20 minutes, only to receive no apology, was unacceptable and left a very disappointing impression of the hotel.

Good location for NEC. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.

Cons:

Only pizzas available late evening. Due to the numbers returning from the NEC staff were overrun. Bar unmanned as a result

The perfect stay for an early morning flight.
Pros:

Really modern and clean. Room was beautiful. Literally 2 minutes walk to Departures.

Cons:

Device charging outlets need updating to USB C. But that’s being really picky and it is a big undertaking.

Wrong room given
Pros:

Prepaid for an executive room for our anniversary but checking everything the morning after, late arrival, 8pm.realised there was no mini bar, dressing gowns and slippers,coffee maker as advertised. The room was right at the back overlooking the bins. The reception agreed it should be an executive room but no executive room was available!! But they didn't tell us this when we checked in. Was offered by reception dressing gowns at breakfast,an hour before we checked out! Given the email of the manager, which I emailed that morning, but absolutely no response whatsoever. The room was nice but not what I'd paid for.

The automated corridor lights come on a bit too late making my wife feel uncomfortable. There was only one hand towel and one bath towel in the bathroom for a double occupancy room

Decent room - untrained staff.
