Breakfast was excellent. The room as clean and comfortable. The modern shower room was spacious.
A lift would help when taking heavy luggage upstairs to rooms.

Our room was above the road and near the train line - the room literally shook every time the train went by
Amazing staff that goes above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable. Very convenient location, and a restaurant at the hotel, which is convenient given that it can be hard to find options in the city.
Maybe we were unlucky, but the room (3) we got felt like a hospital ward. Soulless, outdated, with a mix of furniture styles. It was hard to open our suitcases due to the limited space.
We also had some problems with the shower faucet. It could be either super hot or cold.
The breakfast was inconsistent. One day it was a good portion of scrambled eggs, next day much smaller. I would also recommend adding some charcuterie buffet with at least cheese and ham, rather than only toasts, so people can fuel up if a la carte breakfast is not enough or while waiting.
Overall, we had a good time at the hotel, but I didn't feel like it was worth the money. I really like the idea of a country hotel, but I'd suggest making the rooms cozy (dimmed lights, maybe a dark wall instead of all white, more artifacts in the room, maybe more pictures/paintings), so people would love to spend time in them, especially given the highland weather.

Loved the coziness of the hotel. It was exactly the sort of relaxing retreat from London that I was looking for. The breakfast and dinner menus are fantastic. Scottish Breakfast was amazing and we loved the braised and pulled lamb with rosti and red cabbage. How early delicious food cooked with care. Beds super comfortable and the staff welcoming and knowdlegeable.

We were a party of 9 adults, 2 babies and a dog, with some complicated dietary needs which the staff coped with admirably. They went to a lot of trouble to help with this. The cooked breakfasts were delicious!
Our bed could have been more solid - but we are 2 people averaging over 6' in height, so that is probably asking more than we could expect.
Traditional and charming accommodation with a long history and pleasant host. Set in a rural and peaceful location overlooking Loch Alvie. The best scrambled eggs we had on our trip to Scotland.

Quaintness
Cute country hotel, cosy rooms, comfortable beds, breakfast included. Staff were friendly and even provided standing fans when requested and fixed the tv when there were issues.
Our rooms had slanted ceilings and we hit our heads multiple times so beware. For breakfast: Scrambled eggs were very runny so could be improved and more vegetables / fresh fruits as part of the offering would be good, although the kitchen gave a larger portion of mushrooms when requested.
The location is amazing, next to the lake. Clean and helpful staff.
Our room was too hot and you couldn’t even open the windows properly. The facilities are quite old and when the train passes you could feel the bed shacking. We also heard the person next door snoring. I think a bit overpriced overall.
Food was really good and staff friendly.
Close to railway line but this didn't bother us as the line is not really busy and, trains don't run through the night.

Zimmer 6: Abends laute Musik aus dem Restaurant und der Bar (bis auf Intervention hin). Ventilator direkt vor dem Badezimmerfenster laut bis 2230 Uhr und ab 0730 Uhr. Zimmer klein, Badezimmer sehr klein (2m²) und somit auch die Betten äusserst kurz mit hohen Abschlüssen (185 cm lang).
Die Strasse und die Bahn führen fast durchs Haus, sind nachts aber kaum bemerkbar.
Der Preis ist unanständig und unangemessen hoch, scheint aber doch bezahlt zu werden.
